When playing, and immediately after hitting the turn button, my game died. This happens with every game I play, at some point in the game. Once it happens, that save game is history, the game will crash at the same point every time. I have SmartExecption installed, but it did not react to this crash in any way. The taskbar icon that I used to see when it is running does not display, but SmartEX.EXE is shown in the Task Manager. The links below point to the Saved game, and tw

1) Not necessarily animated, but more different ones. 2) The ability to see at a glance the condition of the ship would be nice, even if it's just a bar above/below the ship, similar to they way that Warcraft or C&C does. 3 & 4) They'll be in the next beta, right? :)

Since downloading and installing 1A I have had a series of crashes with the game. The first time I figured it was because of restoring a saved game, so I created a new one. Each new game has crashed at some point. Each crash occured when clicking on an item on the right side of the screen, either a ship in the list, or a planet, wether on the solar system list, or the all planets list. I'm running WinXP, 1280x1024, Radeon 8500, Dual Athlon MP 1800, 512mb.

Ok, I have figured this one out. :D When starting a new game, on the Race Setup screen, you can click on a race's image to remove them from the game. If you remove even one of the races you will not be able to get back into the game. By replacing the Data\Prefs.INI with the original one, or by changing the EnableEnemyX lines to =1 instead of =0. Do I get a cookie? :)

Little more information for TPTB: I just uninstalled and reinstalled. After installing I closed the Drengin.Net manager. I copied my GalCiv directory as a backup. After re-opening I ran GalCiv. I went in and back out, saved the Debug.ERR file for reference. I then went back in, loaded a saved game, and then exited with no problems. I went back in, created a new game, and then exited with no problem. When I tried to go back in my screen went black and sto

Found another one. When you are attacking a planet and you have the 'hit space' prompt, if you hold the space bar down you continue to 'attack' even though all of your attackers are dead. Eventually the defenders will be worn down and you will have a planet with a large population. I attacked a planet with a population of about 1.5 billion using about 80 million troops and won. When I looked at the planet again, there were 13+ billion people on it.
