I have a question: It is absolutely necessary for your home world to be intact for your civilization to survive? In other words, do you automatically lose if you lose your homeworld? Because it seems like if you blew up your own homeworld with a Terror Star, you get this funny message:

Thanks for the tips. Too bad that I lost that game because the enemy was blessed with a mega event that caused their stats to grow slowly overtime. In time, I lost my fleets simply because of the fact they really became too powerful (weapons at 300% anyone?), so I resigned the game. Oh well, guess my luck's not that great in that game.

If you want to know what is save scumming is: it is basically that you will save before you conduct a risky move or something like that, execute said move, and if it fails, reload and try again. I will also refer the reloading of games after unfortunate events as Save Scumming. Anyway, do you guys do Save Scumming?

He is talking about the Stop Online Piracy Act that is going through congress right now. Basically, it would provide the law enforcement the tools to shut down any website that they deem to be infringing. Here is the Wikipedia article for the bill: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act

The AI will value your ships more if the following are true: The Ships-to-be-sold are top of the line or near top of the line. The Ships were not pieces of crap. You have good relations with the AI. And There are conditions that will compel them to buy ships (i.e. their military is very weak/ the weakest, they are at war with someone very strong, etc.)

Guess someone wants to get the Ballistic Discount on you. [e digicons]x_x[/e] But that is why for most of my trades, I demanded treaties and other binding agreements as payment. And I keep the best weapons for myself.

Today, I won my third game on the tough difficulty. This time, however, I took a different approach. Like before, I won via diplomatic victory. But instead of trading away tech to make friends, I traded away powerful ships. In a way, I became an arms merchant. I was wondering, who else became an arms merchant in their games and won too.
Did they invade any of your planets ? They always seem to have mass drivers so I rush research the counter defences to these. They also have a penchant for attacking any starbases they can find
The AIs place Starbases pretty high on their "to-thwack" lists. They might ignore any other target if there is a starbase near by. And they

You know, I always thought the Dread Lords are a joke when they appear in normal games. So, in this previous game, I just left them alone when they appeared right on the border of my civilization. Big mistake. Instead of being harmless like they used to be, they built the ships I feared all of the time in the campaigns and proceeded to annihilated my ships and conquered my empire. Eventually, I reloaded the game and proceeded to bum rush their planet before t

So it is possible to have a Pikachu ship. It would be hilarious to see Pikachu zapping battleships! [e digicons][/e]

I was wondering: Can you make custom 3d models in another program and import them into the game as ships?

I use boxing all of the time. Problem is that I use lots of starbases so in times of war, all of the enemy ships will make a bee-line towards them. If I accidently box them in, then they will stop going to the starbases and attack something else that I do not want them to attack. And the default spellchecker does not understand that "accidently" is a word!

So, last night I won my first game on tough difficulty after several losing games. And this is my first game which I have won without destroying a single ship at all, i.e a pacifist victory. I was wondering, did anyone else win without destroying a single ship?

I do get the range problem too. Probably you are reloading the game during the AIs' turn. Especially after the AI did something you did not want them to do. They probably put that in to prevent cheating (in a way).

Apparently, the forums is getting bot attacked here: https://forums.galciv2.com/412760 But I do not see a report button anywhere. Where can I report bots?
