I looked through every single option for what DSep said and there is no place where you can specify your relation to the other players. Maybe in one of the editors you can but not the game. I'm playing a normal game, start new game, choose galaxy size and victory conditions, then go to customize race, then select number of opponents only then start game and all opponents are set to Team.

Any ideas? I got a PM saying that the Team status was unbreakable so even playing with the Alliance victory condidition disabled I still really can't play. Are there any specific keys I can delete in the registry Hive to reset TotA's configuration data? Like I said I already reinstalled but that did not reset the configuration (my preferences stayed).

I'm having an issue with the latest build of TotA. Starting a new game and on the first turn, when I press Turn I get a diplomatic victory. The campaign is unaffected by this bug. Going into the Foreign manager I can see the other civilizations right off the bat and my relationship between all of them is "Team". I cannot break the treaty on the first turn as I do not have the Universal Translator tech to speak to the other civilizations. In a new game I can disab
When starting up a game, check your starting relations with each empire - something could have been set to start with everyone allied to you or something.
Yes, all the computer players are showing "Team" in the relations field. And there is no way to break the treaty on the first turn as I don't have the Universal Translator technology. Edit: Not allowing the Alliance victory condition is a work-around for me. Obviously I'd like the option though.

Just a few quick observations: Creating a custom tab, dragging 62 shortcuts onto it from my quick launch. It is very slow to scroll around on it. Then docked it. The dock when you open the custom tab is filled horizontally and you cannot scroll around the dock pop-up to select shortcuts that aren't displayed. But all in all I really like it.

Well, a US court has ruled that first-sale doctrine applies to software. This means you have the right to re-sell software you've purchased. Where the issue remains muddied in relation to Stardock is whether or not the vendor is obligated to provide patches for that resold software. I've already found myself in the situation where I purchased GalCiv II then wanted Dark Avatar but could only find the Gold Edition to buy. So when I entered the Gold Edition's serial into

Hello Brad, You know what? People who think you're unprofessional can go screw themselves. I play your games and before you made this post I didn't really know that part of the backstory to Stardock but there is one point I think people who expect you to act like a "CEO" are missing. You obviously are a real person and you don't let a fancy title get in the way of that. I'd rather be pissed at a comment you've genuinely made than have a hundred platitudes shoved down my throat like so

I'm seeing version 0.99[rc].016 on Stardock Central. And it seems to be stuck in a loop downloading, I ran SDC and the autoupdater asked if I wanted to update so I said no then went and manually updated Gal Civ II to version 1.50.135 to 136 and that went ok. Then I tried to update Arnor but at soon as the download finished it would begin again. Let this go for three times. Restarted SDC and began the download of Arnor again and chose to autoupdate this time and its still looping. Suxors. G

I purchased WindowBlinds 5 and was close enough to 6 that I received 6 as well. Originally I was running Windows XP and of course used SD Central to take care of everything. Now I have upgraded to Vista and WindowBlinds 6 keeps staring at me. I'm looking for a concrete answer: if I choose to install it will it detect that my Operating System is now Vista and download the correct version *or* will I bork my system. Don't want to risk it (because I have 250GB of installe

Thank you Stardock. I guess I have time to complete my current game now :D I always start a new one with a new version. I was really looking forward to 1.0 tomorrow (23rd) but I absolutely accept your decision to polish it some more! As an above poster put it, you only get one launch. So keep up the amazing work, you guys rock! :CONGRAT: I'll definately be buying GC3 when you get around to that one too ;) !

I guess it was because of the missing end-bracket in the XML ;) (joking), but with 6B the Drengin are now able to use constructors to add Battle Station and Fortification techs to Starbases on my rig. Had to start a new game though. But thats alright :CONGRAT:. All in all, thank you for rocking so much! Can't wait for Impulse to flesh out over the next year or so!

What I'm more interested in is Impulse! Wish the write-up had something about that. I saw a link to it in another thread but I'm not about to install it yet. I hope the migration to is goes smooth i.e. my products in my current Stardock Central account don't get mangled. And beyond that, yay Stardock! I'm so happy to hear this because it gives me even more confidence that Stardock will be around for many more years to come!

I'm having an issue with 6A, I'm playing as the Drengin and have aligned with evil (researched Xeno Ethics only) and have researched techs like Battlestations, Fortification, etc. But whenever I send a constructor to my starbases they say there are no battlestation or fortification upgrades available even though I have the techs. Is there a prerequisite that I'm just missing or what?? Edit: Heres a link to my savegame if that helps: [link="http://www.youshare.com/view.php?fil

*Update: Nevermind, sorry, found it in the campaign editor. With the three editors so far the logical progression would be to create a map in its editor, use the map in a scenario, and link scenarios together into a campaign. But no matter how much I look I cannot find the spot to choose which map you would like to use in the scenario editor. I would think it should be under the Universe tab but I do not see it. Am I blind or is it missing in this release? I am using V

Check this post - License Thanks for the link Hankers, the post there by Bichur says it's per computer so that would mean if I installed Vista then Stardock Central would just offer the Vista version of WB6? Sorry to pester you again but the posts in that link are not explicit enough!

5 Replies 2,943 Views

Hello, just a quick question: I own a copy of WindowBlinds 6 running on top of Windows XP. My question is, when I eventually upgrade to Vista do I need to repurchase WB6 for Vista or does my current license also cover the Vista version? Thank you for your time.
