I think it may be one of those mysteries of the universe.
I have to disagree with you, comparing WB5 to WB6 is not really the same as XP to Vista. Sorry.
Huh? How would you know....
Before anyones starts in on me, no I don't use Vista, still on XP Home. I haven't even seen Vista on a computer.
dwax: No, you will not loose any settings. I'm assuming you're speaking about your username and/or password. LogonStudio only changes the images (with certain logons editing buttons/scrollbars), but it will not delete anything. As Boss said, install it and change your logon screen to whatever you want. If you don't like it, reapply the default WindowsXP logon screen via LogonStudio and then uninstall it. Also, why do you want LogonStudio if you currently bypass the logon scr
Does it take a year for the Control Panel fly out menu in the Start Panel to open for anyone else? All other menus open fast but Control Panel is sloooooooooooooooooooooow. Anyone else? on Vista Ultimate
Less than a second here, but I have a pretty good rig. Vista x64 as well.
Have to ask the question, could all this be because WB6 can't find the skin where it expects to find it? Have you moved WB6 files around?
No
I'm assuming you're on Vista x64 because I have the same issue, however, I've never needed to reinstall WB? Once you update it then reboot, just open SDC again and there will be another update which is the current one that you thought you just downloaded. Anyway, just update it again and then reboot...all will be fine. Again, this needs to be looked into, though.
Its amazing how easy it is to miss a few skins here and there. These are all good choices, especially midnight moon and poubel island. I really don't know how I missed those. NightTrain: Any chance on previous WB updates for Vista then?
Kona: NSIS will get it done for you.
Nice Work indeed. I wouldn't mind seeing the Dream if that's not too much trouble. Preferably in a widescreen format
This post should be moved to the DesktopX section...
I've recently been creating custom colored Windowblinds via the WB config (Look & Feel > Colours > Create New/Delete Preset) option. Once I attempt to change a Windowblind by applying it via Theme Manager my custom color will be applied to that WB skin (Something I don't want and don't think should be happening). This only happens when I try to change/apply a Windowblind skin via Theme Manager. I can apply any Windowblind via the WB Config and it will be applied with the Default skin
I had this same issue, however, I just opened SDC (after I was unable to apply a skin) and saw that there was another update for WB6 (probably the same) so I downloaded it again and rebooted now all is fine. Just wanted to state that its obviously an issue. Vista Ultimate x64
I've just recently attempted to open a dockzip on Vista x64 and noticed that the window doesn't show correctly. The screen shot shows how the two buttons are cut off. Note: This only happens when a WindowBlinds skin is applied. I've tested three skins; Diamond, Adamant, Adrenaline and reproduced it with all three. Unloaded WindowBlinds and tried it with just Aero running and it showed fine. Specs: Vista Ultimate x64 Object Dock Plus version 1.90i.020<br/
Until then I'd try uninstalling via Stardock Central, reinstalling, immediately rebooting (before applying a skin) then once booted up apply a skin and see if that fixes it.
Outstanding news! I believe a thank you is due to Stardock and all those involved in creating the themes we'll (ODNT sub's) will be receiving...Thank You.
My forums...this is a public forum (and yes I know this post was not from WC) that allows any person to post. I too am offering my opinion. Why can't two people express their conflicting views on a subject? I'm not attempting to flame/bash you or your opinions...its just that I get annoyed when I see so much negative views and rarely any good ones (as I believe they are warranted).
First, I'm so sick of people bitching about Vista. Before I purchased it, I read into all the bullshit negative hype about how it was soooo bloated and such a disaster. Well, after about two months of using Vista Ultimate x64 I can honestly say that I'm glad I didn't listen to all those comments/opinions. Yeah. We'd HATE to have Microsoft's developers getting actual INPUT from the end users so that they can make the product BETTER, now wouldn't we
I am VERY tired of the elitist viewpoint that if we DARE criticize Microsoft, we're part of the unwashed masses. Know why I usually stay on JU and don't offer my opinion on these forums? THAT is why, in a nutshell. The wise IT professional should be listening to the complaints. That is, after all, how you make a product better. And shouldn't customer service be the ultimate goal?
Elitist...you're the elitist attempting to sway people away from an OS that is actua
Vista (for me) runs better than XP SP2 did. Granted I did have to disable many default services that Vista installs with and I do have a more powerful system, however, its widely kn
Hope it gets worked out.
Thanks for the responses. As has happened before, the problem fixed itself. I've seen this happen many times with XP and never cease to be amazed. Kilo: How do I know if Desktopx is running all the time? I do know it starts up automatically when my computer starts, but I always click on the continue button and minimize omni weather. Open this folder then delete the Omni Time and Omni Weather folders you see. Download them again and try running the .exe. Also, do you have DesktopX running all the time? I only ask because I've had widget problems/error messages, but they never said anything about DX. You probably already know, but in case not you don'
