[quote who="zuPloed" reply="20" id="3640310"] On a sidenote: what difficulty are we talking about? My statements usually come from the "genius" level perspective, since I have a little bit of a grudge with the free tech chance of the two above. Prior to about 1.4 or so I could wtfpwn the ai's with the yor. right now my experience is slightly different, not significantly different from what others have po

I wasn't having crashed till the last game where I picked up ysengard & poath of rhun (both armed reasonably quick survey ships) in the first few turns & put them in a fleet set toauto survey because they could trivially take pirates. Super notable is that I flat out deleted documents/games/galciv3 & the steamlibrary/galciv3 folder as well before doing a clean reinstall so I know that it's clean & all of my races came from the workshop. I still get nev
another problem with the yor is that they still try to be like non-A.S. beings when it comes to the point buy stuff. change them, to look like this pic (I put it up on steam workshop race). The yor quite literally have more than one tech that flat out refers to destroying & paving/building over biological detritus, but they don't ever actually do it or put that unused labor into anything else
I want to crack open a .faction file to get at the tasty weighting goodness within, but I seem to be having some... "issues"... with that. winrar will open it & let me see that it contains a description.txt & save.tmp, but when I extract them it doesn't show up on my system that I can see (yes hidden/system/etc files are displayed) even though repeated unpackings ask to overwrite. attempting to open the text file directly from within winrar itself gives an empty text f

since I saw someone asking for saveshere is one I coincidentally saved around when turn1 when the turn1 hang started & the game that coincidentally did not freeze last night when I realized it coincidentally got autosaved. I don't know if the freezing one is from before or after I started blowing away & verify integrity of xml's & such. Since someone mentioned pirates, it might be coincidence that I've been playing with abundant pirates since it seems to ma

Seems to be something with the map or races. I tried another game & turn 1>2 was fassst, but I didn't Luke the bizarre and starting area I got. Thinking it might have been going down from excessive with the suggested # races to immense with the suggested 24(?) randomly selected races I tried a new game and hung on turn 1 :-( I'm afraid to play around with it on the chance that it's caused not by a race or stellar feature, but an ai just not going something in the fi
first and foremost, the synthetic ability should have a StartingColonyPopulation of more than the 10 they get. Given that the PopulationCapYor is set to 15 base in the syntheticlife ability, it should be at least 15. everything below used to be mitigated by using the planetary wheel heavily early on, but now it's exacerbated since it cant really be done & causes a reduction in output from making people unhappy if you try to run 100%. came here to post about this, I've been seeing the same. every single offered trade (I'm yor) has come in "you must be kidding" off the bat if it includes a tech. I think I had an ai offer me credits for an antimatter of mine that it would have accepted, but tbh I'm not sure there since I told it no anyways

I think we are a long way from the point where we can start debating over artificial -intelligence- & artificial -sentience- where a robot apocalypse type situation could be an issue. With that said, we are very much on the verge of some very unpleasant times as we approach a situation where billions of people literally could not possibly add value to the economy. While the fast food ordering kiosks & self checkout register type things have been

they set/changed the tree to show techs with a [square] or expandable (rounded) box/bubble based on this at some point during alpha/beta iirc, so it should be something programmatically pulled from the xml & displauyed with something as simple as a * beside the specialization in the list. having it dispklay color would be nice as well... although I'm sure there are worse examples that I cant think of at the moment yor have propagation >yellow:collective manufacturing>Resea
[quote quoting="post"] I have suspicions. I suspect that the AI's development has been hampered by the tools it has been given to appraise the strategic situation and that it will continue to be hampered in the future unless those tools are improved. Good decisions require good information. If I'm not mistaken, the AI's decisions are greatly influenced by power rankings. I suspect that the equations for determining player&
