I have already checked the Abundant setting all is what it should be. Bigger numbers than Common so the mistake has to be somewhere else.
I have experience with xml and all that. Read the journal post before. Perhaps I didn't quite phrase my question well. I created several files for my new race including FactionDefs_New.xml. However, there is probably a mismatch between the Internal Name that I chose in the xml and the Internal Name that the game created for the race that I created through the game. Either way, the edits I make to the
As I said additional modules only a basic set and the secondary role does not add management task only in case where a starbase is a trade port and you use the starbase to send-receive ships instead a planet. To expand this idea.. Saying Starbase with a trade port has 3 planets as sponsors. All trading is shared between 3 planets. A planet can sponsor only 1 Starbase and it counts as 1 trade route.
All these Starbases sitting out there could have a secondary use, like a repair centre for ships, a trade port for their sponsors. And all Starbases mining, culture, military or economic would be great if they have some basic modules from all 4 categories. For example a military base with a lab, a market and culture module, just one. A set of a basic level modules for all bases appart their main role.
This is an area that we're focusing on right now actually.
Well good luck.. or I should say keep up the good work so far game looks more and more interesting despite the bugs.
I think culture flip is too easy indeed. I had colonized a planet and several turns later when I had already built 1-2 improvements an alien race colonized the other planet in the solar system. In only 3-4 turns their influence started to push mine a lot. So I started building Influene imrpovements many turns later I had their planet in my influence and finally I got it. What I discovered was a planet with only 4 imrovements low techs only 1 influence improvem
criticism is fine... we are pointing the bugs and other things in game that should be fixed and changed that's feedback
and I was curious why so many stars with no planets at all.. [e digicons]>_>[/e]
Finally game CTD and non playable anymore. I can't be sure for the reason of the crash but I discovered a starbase where a module was stuck "Interestellar Collectors" and grayed out. Probably it was built but then stuck? Now if I load the game it just crashes immediately.. going back to a previous save? Nothing tells me it won't happen again.. or even worse start another empire then lose the game because of bugs.. Ok I got a taste of beta GC3 but it's diss
Creating a custom race is very limited game produces a .faction file but it cannot be edited if you want to make more changes that game allows. In GC2 you could easily create your custom race and you could customize it even more by editing the race's file. Of course GC3 is a new game but so far things look more complex to be done. Creating my custom race is better editing FactionDefs.xml and adding my race there rather in-game and it's limitations. Color options are ehm t
Jenna will be great.. but would be even greater to have a few extra characters for every civilization and the ability to change their clothes like the background. Military is not my style plus customization is important for a galaxy with 128 races.
Well a few things I noticed so far and I haven't started playing yet.. Game crashes, if you want to exit to Main Menu it exits to desktop so most likely it crashing. (note I had rendered an immense map) Creating custom races is very limited and complex. Creating one in game has limitations in the way you type. You can't copy/paste text or select it etc. Racial abilities and traits are very limited and you cannot create an overpowered unique faction. I ha

Minor research screen tweaks... I doubt that means the changed from from full screen back to a window and means I won't be playing GC3 even in this update and probably never if it stays like this..
In the last update the research screen was made to be full screen which was very ugly and waste of space especially in high resolutions. Also the cute robot appears everytime which is annoying rather direct access to research screen. Any change you will fix soon? I have stopped playing the game because of this.
no one cares for this graphical disaster?
My cursor moves fast. I was joking with long distances, just to point how ineficient is the full screen. From all things I said you only pointed my cursor settings.. like the bad interface design is my fault. Tech screen is terrible. The end.
I cannot understand why you made this horrible interface mistake. The tech full screen window looks very bad and its totally inefficient. I have put the game on hold untill a new patch comes and hopefully this will be fixed. Seriously I cannot play the game like this. On a 27"inch monitor at 2560x1440 it's huge my cursor has to travel long distances! As much I like the cute robot it's waste of space and everytime I research something I have to click and accept
Immense! finally a really big map lets see how big is it.. but I have to say the new full screen research window is deal breaker! I'm lost.. it's huge on my 27" monitor so much waste of space with cute robot in center but tottally inefficient... the previous window was way better edit: I tried to play the game.. but I can't stand the full sreen research... plus I have to click every time to close the screen that tells me my reseearch is finis
A minor fix I hope to see later is the date system on saves. It uses the american standard month/day/year which is very confusing. Best if the game has user's system format on saves. A bug when I click on a tech eg. Invasion Optimization through tech tree game crashes. I guess this tech like several others are not available yet but visible in tech tree. Another bug Yor keep asking me for peach on every turn! It brakes my nerves because I have no intention to make
I post here any bugs as I discover them in game Bugs Global Events : Last line of text appears only in half Planet list / Build Queue : Long text does not appear correctly, for example Xeno Research Laboratory where Laboratory goes in the next line making text appearing in half bottom and top of the wo
... Is there empathy in this future?
There is no single path for future this or that. Advancing technologically does not mean we'll become Borgs or beautiful empathic creatures. It's easier to destroy ourselves long before any kind of such advance. Interesting the story about Yor but let's go back to topic. I agree factories should not need workforce. Simply a big NO. There is no excuse for that even for a game. Population should demand production/factories instead work in them. For example more population needs more factories like morale or food buildings. 4 factories on a planet with 6mil population should produce same as 4 factories on a planet with 12mil population. The only difference is that 6mil
How advanced will be the AI this time regarding diplomacy? In GC2 AI didn't want to trade weapon techs or some other important ones unless you gave him unfairly lots of other techs or money in return. Will be there a better balance this time? And what differences with GC2? Will be there spies? (I hope not so expensive like in GC2) When the immense size map will be released? The 100 players game was interesting but what about the opposite? A game with imm
1. I never liked diplomacy much and that because AI has never been smart enough so far. In CIV 5 like others mentioned AI was a crazy psycho it didn't matter if you were friendly or wary AI had been denouncing me all the time even if we had good relations and he was far away on the map. I'd like either a really smart AI who doesn't act agressively all the time or something very basic for tech trading or other and no spies! 2. 200-300 turns or more and that's because I
