Once again my faith in Stardock is rewarded. If these changes are as good as they sound I think Gal Civ III may just have surpassed Gal Civ II. Can't wait! [e digicons][/e]

No, that would be too logical [e digicons]:D[/e]
The game stopped doing it. I tried loading an old save & it didn't happen with that game either. Guess we'll just chalk it up to Gremlins [e digicons]}:)[/e] If it happens again I'll be sure to submit a ticket using the link you provided.
I always play at insane map size. 13 Majors (includes 2 custom) and minor races set at abundant. Star and Planet frequency are also set to abundant I have 16GB and Gal Civ III is only using 9.2GB - CPU usage is 29-31%. Total memory usage is running around 11.3GB. I was getting game freeze-ups when 1.7 first came out, but I haven't seen any issues since I started a new game.
That would certainly annoy the heck out of me. Couldn't you just write a big article off-line & then copy & paste when done? [e digicons]8C[/e]
Don't think it's a Win7 conflict. Didn't happen with 1.62 and doesn't happen any other time.
This just started with 1.7 Beta. Game runs fine for about 30-50 turns and then the screen goes black. Game is still running, I can hear sound and Task Manager says game is running, but video never comes back. I have to kill game in Task Manager. Never saw this with 1.62. Insane map size, all Major & minor races activated. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti /w up-to-date driver - 364.51, screen resolution = 1920x1080 Acer Predator G3610 w/ Intel i7-26
I have also noticed this.
Hi all - Apologies, we ran into some Steam config issues on the new expansion pack. I hope to have it worked out with Valve tomorrow. In the meantime, please enjoy the version 1.6 update.
I think it was way above & beyond to even try to get the Beta out on a Saturday. Kudos to everyone at Stardock!

At this stage, it'll be more about balance and seeing if anything went through. I am expecting a VIP code to send to founders immently. It'll be in the founders forums. Well I thought tonite at 10:00 was a little too obvious after Brad's post [e digicons][/e] But if you're still taking real guesses go ahead and put me in for 10:10 tonite.
We're not really thinking a remake of WOM. Rather, should be invest in updating what we have and making it available on Steam? It would gain the engine updates that LH/SK have but it wouldn't be a new game. The question is, was WOM "fun" enough as a concept to justify this work?
For all its faults, I have such an emotional attachment to WOM (hundreds of hours playing BETA's, init
Derek - I remember having this same discussion with Frogboy back in the development of Gal Civ II. The hardcore players always want more & bigger everything. Frogboy got a little peeved at us back then, but we're all still playing his games so I guess that just says that eventually we'll get pretty much everything we want. Do what you have to do to make the game playable for the biggest audience today. I think most of us trust you to get it right in the
Thanks for the link BuckGodot. [e digicons]k1[/e] Don't know how I missed that one! I understand why Stardock did what they did, but as most people said - not really an optimal solution. I run Insane maps set at Abundant everything with a customized race, all the other races, & lots of minor races. Never had a problem. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I'll check out your fix to see what I missed!
Sorry Derek but this fix doesn't make any sense - "Habitable planet creation balanced for larger maps" I pick Abundant because the word means more than would normally be expected. Why Nerf a feature that already has a fix? If a player doesn't want as many Habitable planets all they had to do was pick a lower setting. You don't need to fix this for me - I know how to manipulate the XML cod
The Star Date: May 24th, 2315 The Occasion: Annual video message to the people of Earth. And so once again it is my pleasure to open the annual commencement of Peace Day with this free game from Stardock Ulimate Gaming. As we begin the 250th anniversary of world peace let us never forget the immortal words of Frogboy. "Some people like watching movies. I like making games." His vision has given us the Utopia our ancestors could only envision in their "movies".
Keep up the good work Scott. Really enjoy where you guys have taken this game so far. I'm distracted by Gal Civ III right now so I'll be ready for a change of pace when you get around to releasing update.
I knew what you meant - just couldn't resist tweaking you're message because it came so close on the heels of Gal Civ III release. So it was really me poking fun at the Stardock gang. [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Wow, you guys are great. Still wish there was a Civopedia. Now, once I add the mining module to a starbase, is there any way to also add the modules, like for economy?
No - Mining or Economy, not both. Now Relics are a different story you can add either a Mining or an Economic module to a Relic starbase, but again not both. Just remember that you will probably only need 1 Mining starbase per co
Came across another peculiarity: 4) I've built constructors to mine resources that I find. However, it looks like I only get a single actual unit of that resource. It doesn't accrue. So, if that's correct, then I get to build one ship that uses that resource, and that's it? One mining rig for every ship that uses duranthium? And on top of that, I'm supposed to building starbases for other purposes than minin
Just went to Steam & you've hit you're 80%. Good job & well deserved. I added my positive review with a comment that the game will continue to be refined as Stardock is very committed to making enjoyable games. You've earned that comment in my book.
