Works fine for me. But I also use the latest WindowsFX, and use it to make the icon text transparent. You might want to completely uninstall WB, and then reinstall, see if that helps. Good luck.

I think Linux is pretty much ready for the desktop, at least for some users. Both KDE and Gnome are at an acceptable level of usability. Obviously OSX and XP are more polished, and have more overall consistency, but Linux is perfectly usable as a desktop, even now. I've been playing with RC1 for a couple of days now, myself. I like the Gnome2 desktop also, but I've compiled beta1 of KDE3.1 and have been using it pretty regularly also. Haven't had any crashing problems, and it also handles icons better (IIRC, 3.1 will allow the use of the SVG icons used by gnome2). One of the better features of KDE is the web browser, konquerer. I'm at the point where I prefer it to mozilla (except in a few cases), especially in beta1. All in all

Reaper - You are correct about copyright violations being illegal. However, because such violations are already illegal means that there is no need to make any new laws to deal with it. Personally, I'd rather have the existing laws enforced without having to resort to additional unnecessary and wasteful legislation. Excessive and redundant laws have no effect but to engender disrespect for the law as a whole.

The easy (but tedious) method is to launch iconpackager, select the icons and cursors icon on the left bar, and for each of the icon entries in each tab, change that to whatever icon you want to use. When you're done, have IconPackager save that as a package (file-> save package as ...) You can also manually edit the .iptheme configuration file (it's text). Best way to do that is to open an existing theme file, and modify it for your icons. Then you can package your theme into

I have two machines, one for Linux, one for Windows. I spend about an equal amount of time on each (I'm a Unix and Windows developer :o)). From the standpoint of a Linux user, I'd be thrilled to see your icons on my linux box as well as my windows box. You should have no trouble making the PNG icons in windows. You can even zip them up using the zip format, Linux users can unzip them using unzip (which is available on most of the distributions).

I updated to 3.3i and I lost the wb.ini setting to allow wb to skin things like the display properties dialog, etc., on XP, and I can't remember it to save my life As I was searching for any mention of this (unsuccessfully) I was thinking it would be nice if there was a comprehensive document available that lists all of the possible settings. I'm using it on XP Pro with no problems. The first few ports of Gimp were pretty touchy, but they've gotten much better. Just use the latest version you can find, you shouldn't have any significant problems with it.
