If a Muslim came to you and said... "Oh yeah, well if you don't think the Koran is perfect, how come the Koran SAYS its perfect" ...would it have much impact on you? Would you look at it and say... "Oh, well, now that I read it Mohamed does in fact claim to God's prophet. It says it right there in black and white. Can't really dispute that.

Andy: I already know you know these answers so now I'll ask you...why ask them? because your answers are different to mine, KFC. I think it’s healthy to hear different points of view and to engage in a hearty discussion, especially about significant topics like God and religion. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#F

KFC, (1) if, hypothetically, you heard God’s voice instructing you to go out around town killing hundreds of people - let’s say Buddhists and Hindus in your local region for worshipping “false gods and idols”, or maybe “for the failings of their great-great grandfathers” (Numbers 4.18), would you stop and think, “Hang on. This is just wrong.”? Or would you do it, after all, you are being asked to be an instrument of God, exercising God’s “mercy, kindness and goodness”, and will help eli

KFC, you refer to the Bible to validate your views, but there is nowhere in the Bible that says the Bible is infallible or inerrant. The principle that the Bible is infallible and inerrant and that certain verses must be interpreted literally, actually only exists in your mind and in the minds of those with similar beliefs to you. It’s like a little bubble, where circular reasoning abounds. The religious fundamentalists’ message is essentially: “Come and subscribe to our model of the wo

The truth is these "victims" are victims at their own hands, not the wests My point was that the Muslims are the same as us, underneath. Their Holy Book is no worse than ours, and they are also human beings. According to the laws of psychology, if we were in their exact position, we would be the same as them. There would be many normal, good natu

While most "victims" may not be out pillaging, raping and murdering, they are cheering for their fellow victims in their perceived quest for vengence. … So what else are we to believe? 5 Muslims work in the same office as me. From my 6 years working here, I have got to know these people, and believe me, they are the most pleasant, humble and c

This is true for you, as a Christian (I presume) or at least one sympathetic to the Christion theology. I was a Christian. I am not a Christian now. And in my not being a Christian I have repudiated the Christ I foolishly worshipped. Jesus the Christ is not God, nor the Word of God. Jesus the Christ is a God-form, created by the conviction of his believers and the persiste

it falls flat because it was a period of the history, not the whole history. Islamic terrorists are trying to make it their whole history. They had their crusades and inquisition, and are still having them. The world has grown up a lot in the last 1000 years, but Islam apparently has not. Islamic terrorists form an extreme minority of Muslims. I

The ones who compare the 2, do so on 2 levels. One is the history of Christians and they push the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition for their justification. That of course falls flat as anyone can trace atrocities of any ethnic or religious group if they go back far enough. That's the level I would have highlighted too. I don’t think it fall

Is this by design, or just a fact of nature? By design, Xythe, for sure. God designed and created the whole system, and God designs everything perfectly and with good purpose - including the ‘veil’ which obscures us from seeing the whole Truth. So what might the purpose of feeling so afraid and wary about the unknown be? Probably so we

it seems that scientists have now been able to replicate astral travel (out of body experiences) in the laboratory, by stimulating certain parts of the brain. That’s right. The picture in your sub-link, Little Whip, of the person rising from his bed WWW Link">Link , is exactly the s

Christ is God’s way-shower and redeemer. ... (he also demonstrated that God’s nature is Personhood, rather than a vast impersonal Force, regarding the Godhead element of the Divine, incidentally)

Psychics are the same and some actually appear to do good........helping find trapped victims.....criminals, that sort of thing, but still, we are to steer clear of such things for they do interfere with God's overall plan What makes you think psychics aren’t part of God’s plan in the first place? It’s not the psychic’s choice that he or she is

Thanks Serenity. This subject is my primary passion in life, as well as trying to exercise it as much as I can. You're right, it is food for thought. I've learnt that the more we explore and discover, the more good food we can find to eat, which nourishes the soul. I believe it's all the same Food at the end of the day - i.e. Christ, the Bread of Life, and also that deep down we're all brothers and sisters united by the blood of Christ.

I'm trying to grasp this one. You're saying that the more we are the way God doesn't intend us to be, i.e., jealous, angry, hateful, the longer we will live? I'm sorry if I sound dense, just trying to understand this point. I’ve just realised what you were asking Serenity. “Room for growth” doesn’t mean the longer we live. Another way of sayin

We're such babies eh? Because when you think about it, man may have been on earth for so long, yet, we keep doing the same things over and over, repeating the cycles of our lives, making mistakes, doing the things that have already been done. We don't seem to grasp the possibilities of the life that God has given us enough to get beyond our 'childish' human traits. When y

If something good, even great happens to a friend of yours or someone you know, would you be happy for that person or would you be jealous? Depending on what the luck is I can understand a little envy, that’s a typical human trait. However when it comes to someone being blind with jealousy and hatred that I don’t understand. Why do people do that?
