Most of my skins are colorizable and so far I've just used skinstudio to generate the masks. Then I decided to make a skin where color is the main feature, and I wanted the user to be able to make that color anything they wanted, so I experimented a little to find out exactly what happens (I've never seen it explained anywhere), and this is what I found: 1. One of the most interesting threads I've read in a long time. Used to date a 'model' and my kid used to be registered with a modeling agency. So i've had some exposure to the business. Personally I guess I'm just too plug-ugly to be of interest . Or maybe I was just never spotted

Koasati, I've produced 32 bit uncompressed TGAs with several apps. None worked except photoshop. Can't vouch for other commercial applications like PaintShop Pro though.

I banged on about this in the forums for a long time to no effect. Basically WB only understands TGA files written by a very limited set of applications (like Photoshop for example). Why on earth WB doesn't support PNG files I'll never understand - many other Stardock apps support them (DesktopX for example).

YES YES YES. I WISH companies would start delivering software on DVDs. PC magazines in the UK routinely come in two versions: one with a CD cover disk, one with a DVD cover disk (and they have done for over two years now). If magazines see a market for it, what on earth are software companies playing at? 'course PC magazines here in the US don't normally ship with cover disks at all - perhaps because there's more broadband over here, but that's an entirely different poll!

Apart from the Apple cinema screen, The Samsung 17" with built-in TV tuner is a good bet. I have their earlier 15" and it's v. good (good bang for the buck). I read a recent review that made a good point though: LCD screens look awful at anything other than their native resolution. Still. I would never go back to a CRT.

I think the survey is self-selecting. i.e. Most users of WinCustomize will either be in the first flush of an infatuation with skinning or will be people for whom that first flush turned into an obsession. The latter are necessarily a subset of the former. The former will not return to this site to anwser the survey once the infatuation wears off.
