Take-Two Hit By Government
FTC Allowed to Probe Publisher

Stardock Forums
Take Two Interactive may have really stepped in it this time. The highly controversial publisher of the Grand Theft Auto series has been the target of a House of Representatives vote following much controversy over the Hot Coffee mod. A bill was put to vote to see if the "Federal Trade Commission should investigate the publication of the video game 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' to determine if the publisher intentionally deceived the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to avoid an 'Adults -Only' rating."
The bill that Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) introduced passed by a 355 to 21 vote allowing the FTC to run a full investigation on the company to check for any wrong doing and if the investigation finds any wrong doing then a fine would be almost certain. Take Two is currently amidst a recall of all versions of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as it prepares a new version that is missing the offensive materials.
