Wow maybe you and I have quite a few things in common Pontius. Stargate SG-1 is an excellent series. I must say Ihave realy enjoyed Monday nights because of it. With the Sci-Fi channel running mini marathons from 6-10 every Monday night I've really become addicted to it again.

And The Twin Towers...nuff said....

Could it be possible that the pirate boss and an MWC member are so much alike????

I don't have cable out here so I don't get to watch SG-1. I do get the videos when they are out, however, and love it. Best Sci-fi series out right now and one of the few that surpassed the movie. It is to the sci-fi genre, what Hoosiers was to the sports movie genre. One of the few where they actually develop the characters, such that you can identify with them.

LOTR is one of the few movies that surpassed the books. They shot em all at once so they can end where they want to rather than do each book seperately. Also nice... One of the few DVD's where they really did some work in translating it to the small screen.

I gather from this that Stargate is worth watching? I haven't looked at it for years!

Definitely. Well worth watching. It's alot like Babylon 5 in that some plots go across several episides (not all in order) so you have to watch awhile to get completely back into it. I'd prefer it over "Polarize the hull, polarize the hull, polarize the hull Star Trek the internally inconsistant with the story prequal" SG1 definitely fills what would otherwise be a void in the Genre.
I don't know whether your region encoding is the same down there, So I don't know when it's gonna be out for you guys.

Yeah Pontius I completely agree, Stargate is great. Too bad you don't get cable, Every monday there is a 4 hour block of old Stargates, and the new one is every Friday. Just reminded me, I forgot to setup the VCR. I do that alot, so I only catch 1/2 of the new episodes. Hopefully they will release season 4 all together, instead of one DVD at a time.

They have em all together. Season 1, 2, 3, and 4 (due out next month) Each set about 50 bux @ amazon.

Barry Rain=Bye bye Satellite. Rains alot here. Therefore, Satellite down more than up. Not worth it. :(

The link will take you to amazon, but obviously not the right place. Sy. But you'll be able to find it under dvd then Sci/fi. 50 bux isn't all that bad a price for a season's worth. Little over 2 bux per episide.

Oh but whatch out, these video's contain some of the original scenes they cut for TV. So watch em BEFORE you turn em loose on your kids.

Which reminds me that Season 3 of Babylon 5 - which, in my ever-so-humble opinion is an even better show than Stargate, but just barely - releases on DVD next month also. (On the 12th if I recall.)

Of course, I've been working 7 days/60 hours a week this month, so I've got some gaming to catch up on before I can enjoy my DVDs. Hey boss - maybe we could show 'em to the crew on the big screen below decks on the S.S.o.D. Give 'em something to work for - not that free beer's not enough, of course... :)

Wait on Two Towers. The super Extended Edition is out in November. Just like with the first one. No sense wasting $$ in Sept and re-buy it again in Nov. :HOT:
