WC Browser?

Just wondering if the WC Browser program has been discontinued? Last time it worked was around 3/17 and now when I try to access a library from within, it gives an error downloading. Did a check for updates and get nada. Uninstalled and reinstalled from within SDC, same.

Yes, I noticed that too. Theme Manager refuses to download again as well, and I suspect that it has something to do with the newest move to new servers last week. That's when the problems started. I am sure Brian Harper is aware of this problem, but I sent him an email to point this problem out anyway.

Its broke for accessing the libraries. SDC might be also. Stardock is working on it.

The issue should be fixed some time today. Appears to be something wrong with the scripts running on the site.

Ok, the WinCustomize browser should be back online.  When we moved WinCustomize from a Windows 2000 to a Windows 2003 server there was some different configuration settings that needed to be done that I was not aware of.

Sorry about that.  Anyway, should be all set now. Let me know if you see any other issues that I may have missed.

Is this still happening for you?

Oooh yeah. The move crashed everything, the site's slow as heck, I get memories of dial-up...... Timeouts frequently. Bugs in attempting various things. General network errors. |

Meowy....I think you are overstating the case.

If anyone should notice real slow-downs it'd be me....I'm always here...

No slow down here, a timeout every so often, but nothing huge. At least not yet.

I don't want to jinx anything, but same here. Knock on wood! Thanks for all the hard work, Guys

Sometimes it feels like dial-up, sometimes it feels like cable, which it always should if you have cable.

i'm on dsl and experience time outs, server errors and "page cannot be displayed", depending on time of day. Australia daytime is reasonable, night-time can be temperamental with page loading and downloads etc. i guess that's probably the busiest time so bear with it, but i've been unable to access the libraries section for a while now, day or night, and occasionally i can't navigate from on area to another.

Very strange. We've been keeping close tabs on everything and aside from the occassional issue, things have been running pretty well (though this weekend was problematic at times). If you haven't already, you may want to try flushing your browser's cache to see if that helps. Try running a traceroute to the site as well to see if there are any hops down between you and us, since that'll always muck up the works getting anywhere.

I have my browser automatically dump cache on shutdown.

I think that there is too much traffic on the site. Maybe time for a few upgrades......
