A question on "task or tray"

why can't we have task bar and tray bar within the same dock at the same time?

No idea, but why don't you just make two docks and keep them next to each other?

but system tray wouldn't appear there either


For the tray you need MCP to be running (look for sdmcp.exe in task manager).

MCP is usually setup in SDCentral but this is all I know since I have the whole ObjDesk subscription. Maybe someone who has OD(+) only can pipe up and explain how to setup MCP without SDCentral?

Glenn... it's not the same at all. iwantlove was asking why both task, and tray can't occupy the same dock. He/she never said the tray didn't work.

sdmcp.exe can usually be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock. Add it to the startup folder, and reboot. That should fix your problem.

In that case, it's just a program limitation. They may add the ability in a future revision if enough people request it.

Thanks. I apparently misread the initial comment. Regardless, the sdmcp.exe file had been removed from the startup. Put it back an viola.

I have tried many methods.
Currently that program limitation cannot be modified superficially.
