Star Threshold

Somehow, my preference got changed and now in general galleries I am only seeing skins with at least 6 stars. I would prefer not to have any thresholds like that so I can see everything. I went to My Account and Preferences, and it gives me "Show skins with this rating or higher:" but no drop down menu to change the setting. It gives me a menu for skins per page, but not the rating settings. Any ideas?

Underdog45, I checked your profile and it shows you at access level 1 {citizen} and user level 2 {visitor}..read the Mission Statement page Link under "Wincustomize User Classes" for Visitor status

That's interesting, considering until a couple days ago I could see everything, and I have submitted skins which it says visitors can't do. In addition, I have "Citizen" in front of my name on the boards here, and I just went and tested to see if I could download something under 7 stars, which I could. When I do searches for specific things in the galleries, I do see everything (i.e. searching for "napster" in the Object Dock gallery shows me my Napster icon which is rated 5 stars as well as lower-rated icons by a user called "The Napster") but in the main gallery pages I only see 7 stars and up.

There has been a lot of upgrading and system glitches concerning alot of people and their status and access level and it is being worked on, check some of the other threads here in the forums..if you feel you are not given your correct access levels, email administration but I would suggest waiting it out a few days...They know of the problems and are working on it...good luck

Cool. Thanks for the info. For now, I figured out a workaround by simply typing the * wildcard in the search field. I can tell I'm not the only one with this problem as recent sub-7 star submissions have disproportionately low download counts. Nothing, and I mean nothing, ever stays at single digit downloads for a day, much less about 10 items at single digits. For now I'll just stick with the trusty * until things settle down around here. I'd imagine with how big this site is that maintenance can be a nightmare.

We'll be looking further in to this today. It appears the whole User Level/Access Level system needs revising and improving.
