I have a major probelm with the new WC site

Same problem - only 'default' icons where thumbnails should be. Doesn't matter which browser I use either, Firefox, IE, Netscape all fail to show images. Probably a database query problem?

After using WC for a couple of years, or so, I'm now experiencing the same problem loading images after the implementation of the new site design. I'm using Moz.1.7.3, Firefox1.0, and, once in a while, IE. I've allowed images, cleared caches, enabled cookies (tried www.2wincustomize.com) etc., specifically for WC on all of these browsers. Java's also up to date and functioning. The only page that will load images is the "Gallery" tabs initial page-load. Clicking on any of the links, however, takes me to a page with no images. Also, these default images aren't hyper. I've tried support, including a screen capture, on this - I'm sure they're working on it - and have tried to find an answer to all of this in these forums. If I use the "Wincustomize Browser" installed with my subscription, everything works great with only a slight load-time issue. Still, it would be nice to get here using a traditional browser. Two out of three of my freinds who also are WC fans are expeiencing the same problem. I am patient, but it's been about a week now. Any ideas (coders?)...

I had this problem right from when the new site was put up and as has been said it still is happening.

The stock answer is obviously that its not the site because then everyone would be reporting the problem.

Ergo its other settings in your browser, or you are blocking images in some way like using ZoneAlarm for instance.

This would be a nice try except for one thing in my case - no change of PC, settings, software and anything else you want to suggest and the old website worked.

Ergo its something that has changed in the coding of the new website that our browser settings or whatever doesn't like and its something that not everyone has fallen foul of.

Whichever way you cut it for me the site is becoming very unusable because its the graphics that make it and not the accompanying text.

And no I'm not turning off ZoneAlarm to see if that is the culprit because avoiding one website is easier than avoiding trojans, viruses, hackers, etc.

I do have a confirmed report that ZoneAlarm is blocking are images.  At this time I have not had a chance to look into this more.  But a possible solution may be to configure zone alarm to trust the following servers:

images.stardock.com, skins.wincustomize.com, skins2.wincustomize.com, skins3.wincustomize.com, skins4.wincustomize.com

or maybe you can shorten it up to just trust stardock.com and wincustomize.com

I had the same problems on Mozilla Firefox.. All I did was go to Tool - Options - Web Features on the right side - and in the allowed sites and excpetions part I just typed in www.wincustomize.com in everything and I see all the images fine now Hope you got all that. I have a hard time putting periods instad of ands

Thank's David, T-Man, yraq, and quacker for getting involved in this string. All of your help and suggestions are very much appreciated.

All image permissions had already been enabled in the browsers I use as well as cookies, etc. Also, I took your suggestions, T-Man and yraq, and configured ZoneAlarm as you stated above - WC, and all of it's variations, now have total carte-blanche within that app. What did work, however, was completely shutting down ZA (ouch!). Obviously, I share David's feelings on this. Something I forgot to mention; WinCustomize does work in MSN8. I never use it and had kind of forgotten about trying that route - "Just when you think you're getting out, they keep dragging you back in". Anyway, I think David has the real problem nailed down; "Ergo its something that has changed in the coding of the new website that our browser settings or whatever doesn't like and its something that not everyone has fallen foul of".

I guess I can just use the WC Browser, which I have no problem with or, God forbid, MSN8. It would be nice to get to the bottom of this...

OK its now thanks all round to the guys with the suggestions for changing the ZoneAlarm settings. I have done as suggested and behold I now have graphics where before I did not.

Of course it doesn't explain why the old site worked with the settings that the new site does not.

The important thing is that the problem has been cracked.

So once again thank you to everyone concerned.

I have had this problem, and have found that those who use zone alarm or CA Etrust Firewall or CA Vet, will be able to fix in privacy settings, by setting ad blocking to medium, hope this helps.

Did all the thingz stated above, but still not workin..

The final successful step was made after applying the change that zergimmi explained to do!!!!!! Thanxxx very much zergimmi - full rizpekt to You!!!!

PS: I use ZA Pro, glad to use the wincustomize.com page again with all the features:)

When going from the old site to the new site, all my settings worked. Images were there, everything. Had no problems. My guess is you lucked out on the old site with your settings but the new site needed more.
