The Most Annoying Comp Problem Ever

My comp runs fine with the windowblinds 4.4 loaded up on it, but when i click on random things around the desktop, like my clock or my tray expander, i get the "dotted box" around them and it is really hacking at my nerves. Somebody please tell me how to get rid of it before i snap!!!

Thanks: Logan

It sounds like a conflict or bad install. Giving your system specs never hurt though.

It doesn't sound like any conflict or bad install to me. I know exactly what you're describing. I used to see the dotted line around the tray arrow too, but I don't recall how I got rid of it. It's Windows' way of showing a control has focus. Someone must know the solution.

Most annoying computer problem I've come across is a corrupted boot.ini on C while running the comp on a Fixed Frequency monitor which does NOT display VGA and only functions when the OS display driver is loaded.

Post, boot and dumps are therefore invisible.

If you want 'annoying'......THAT'S annoying.....

"dotted box"

That is XP's way of showing you where you are focused....it uses the opposite of the unfocused color beneath it (on white...it's black). Nothing that WB can change maybe one of the tweak proggies out there can change that for you

Hopefully that will point you in the right directon. Since you didn't say what version of Windows you're using or any other system info it's hard to get anything more specific.

Sorry i haven't been able to reply to this thread. I am using XP SP2, with an AMD XP-M 2600+. 512 RAM, all the cool stuff. I know that the dotted box thing is not stock on XP when i use my Guest account, it isn't there. I don't know what else you would need for specs, but any available info to get rid of this would be very much appreciated. Thanks for all the replies!
