I upgraded start11 to version 2.5 rebooted the computer as instructed by the installation and I have had problems ever since.
Items on my top-positioned task bar on my secondary monitor become unresponsive, whereas I never had this problem before.
Pattern to reproduce this: be active in a window on my primary monitor, then click on a anything on the taskbar of my secondary monitor and there is no response. If i right-click over an item on that unresponsive second monitor's taskbar I get the "configure start11..." menu as if there is nothing at that position on the taskbar even though there are many items on the top taskbar, such as windows 11 explorer (grouped as 1), 2 chrome windows, 2 word windows, 1 pdf window. Moving more or fewer windows to/from that monitor to the other doesn't seem to affect it. And by the way, when that "configure start11..." menu appears, it flickers the top 0.5" of the visible window so all the tabs on chrome; this also didn't happen with the prior start11).
The only way I can bring focus to a window on my second monitor is Win-Tab, then click on an app (on that second monitor's desktop) then it gets the focus, and then for a brief while I can toggle again between windows (on that second monitor) by clicking on their icon on the taskbar. But when I shift the focus to a window on my main monitor, the problem repeats on that second monitor's taskbar: nothing happens when i click any of the icons of the open windows on the taskbar (on that second monitor).
When I mouse over the taskbar when it is working, it shows previews of the windows. But when it does not work it shows nothing. It's as if start11 doesn't believe there are any icons on that taskbar.
This problem only exists on my second monitor; the primary monitor's taskbar behavior seems fine.
How do I revert back to a prior version of start11 so I can have a working second monitor again? The previous version was glitchy but not this bad because i never had a problem.
Configuration: Win10 style. Taskbar: "Let start11 enhance" ON. Medium taskbar size. Position: primary: align top; secondary: align top. On primary display and secondary display: Never combine taskbar buttons. Show taskbar buttons on: taskbar where window is open.
Windows 11 specs:
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 23H2
Installed on Sep 29, 2024
OS build 22631.4751
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1055.0
My laptop monitor is set to be the secondary monitor; I set the usb-c-attached monitor to be my primary monitor in windows 11, which is to the physical right of the laptop monitor.
I have since restarted my computer and this problem persists exactly as it was before the restart.
