My dock has reset itself on startup

Hi !

I'm quite sad because during a restart of my computer, my dock was reset and I can't find any traces of user files in the software installation folder, nor in the folder in "My Documents" or AppData.

How can I set my icons back ?

I think the data is lost forever. So I took the time to redo all the setup that I had done previously. Strange..., your tool doesn't seem very reliable on this point. It is probably missing an automatic backup system (for example every week) which cannot be erased by the software itself. Perhaps a point to review. I will make backups manually from now on.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have something install that do periodical cleanup? Something might have delete the setting files in here: C:\Users\(xxxxx)\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus.

To back up you need to manually open ObjectDock Setting->Click on "Setting" tab->Click on "Troubleshooting Option" button-> Click on "Open my ObjectDock settings folder.." (refer to screenshot below). And saves those files.

Thank you.

It was in this folder that I had looked but unfortunately all the folders they contained had been reset.

No, not to my knowledge, it had worked well for several months. However, the time this happened, it followed a sudden shutdown of Windows during a restart (like a crash).

Is it possible that the data could be corrupted if the crash occurs at the exact moment when the old files are deleted and before the new files are created?

I also often had the message "the last modifications may have been lost" when starting the software.

I believe the program will consider its a new install situation when it look at that folder and there are no files within that folder, and it will create those files with it's default settings. Does this happen a lot or just one time?

Thank you,

You should run a disk & memory check. Could very well be a faulty hd or ram error when something like this happen.
