Move the start bar

Hi, I wanted to know if it was possible to set the start bar only on the second monitor.

I can't set it on the second monitor.

On old Windows I remember that I just had to unlock the bar and drag it to the second monitor

thanks

If you're not using the Enhanced taskbar, I think you can make a selection in the Windows Settings. I don't use multiple monitors, so I can't test this setting.

However, activating that option activates the bar on all my monitors. I wanted to deactivate it on monitor 1 and 3 and activate it only on the second monitor.

With Windows 7 this was very easy :'(

I believe you can disable show my taskbar on all display. And set your primary monitor to be monitor 2. That will move your taskbar to Monitor 2. Do know that in Windows 11, we can not do what we can do on Windows 10, where we can just click and drag the taskbar to any monitor we like.

I can't do it :(

I can only disable the bar on two monitors, 2 and 3, but I can't disable it on the first one :(

The same thing happens with only two monitors, if I disconnect the third monitor I can only disable the bar on the second monitor.

I would like to move the bar to the second monitor and keep the first monitor free

Hi Basj,

I will use this thread since it represents my problem and i dont want to create a repost, but your given solution does not work for me.
It is possible to get the taskbar on to the second monitor by using your video.
But if you use this method, your second monitor is now your main monitor.
It changes how most programs start up.
There are several instances where u cant even select the screen you want the software to run on. It defaults to the main monitor.
I dont want most programs running on my second monitor...
I was hoping for an addition in the task bar selection menu within Start11.
If you have two screens, that you get the option to disable one.

Thanks for any feedback.
I know this is an old thread.
But im looking forward to a reaction.

Greetings
Steffen

Hello,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Unfortunately, this is the way Windows 11 is designed—the primary taskbar will always appear on the main monitor. If you’d like the main taskbar to show on your second monitor, you’ll need to set that monitor as your main display.

This was something you could adjust more flexibly back in Windows 10, but Windows 11 has changed how it works.

Thank you,
