Maximum Number of Players is 22

Game says 40+

I am playing on PC, V2.7.1.58372 and V2.7.583340.   I have never played more than 17 races at one time.   The game shows I can do something north of 40 races.   I can never get more than 22.  It allows me one of each species and myself.   I have tried to do only randoms but it stops at 22 each time.
Am I doing something wrong?  Have I missed an option in the game configuration?  I don't see this question in the forums so I am assuming I am at fault?

Thoughts?

Hello!

I believe there are currently around 23 core civs, and in a game each civ must be unique. So my first question is do you have enough custom civs (17) to reach that goal of a 40 race game?

Thank you for the response.   This is what I was suspecting the problem was.  That each civilization was only allowed one time.  I have not created any custom races and I have not purchased, bought, downloaded the additional civilizations pack.
I believe you have resolved the issue and being that simple I assume most everyone else figured it out.
Next will be deciding if I want to create custom or get the pack.
Again thank you.

You will have to "create" more Civs, the Species Pack does not give new Civs just more options for creating Civs.

The SP gives new types of species you can build, one is a species of Clouds.

Stardock may in the future add more Civs they did in the other Versions however that has not been confirmed at this time.

You should be able to download civs that other players have created.

Hey, to add my 5 cents to Publius - there are some amazing civs you can download from the workshop. But if you want to make it super quick, you could just duplicate civs. When selecting your own, you can just duplicate existing ones. I would however recommend playing around with their colour, so that you can tell different copy civs apart.

But otherwise, there is nothing stopping you playing vs 10 Drengin clans, all willing to subdue the Earth Alliance ;)
