Vanishing governors

When a core world culture-flips, sometimes its governor stays, which is nice.

Unfortunately if that governor‘s civilization is later destroyed, the governor vanishes without a farewell note.

This is somewhat annoying, and seems rather illogical: the governor decided to stay even though their civilization was still around. With the civilization gone, why should they leave now?

I have also noticed that if you capture a planet with a governor, and fire them they disappear rather than going back to the pool. So you can't reassign them to another task.
