GCIV running on the Steamdeck

https://youtu.be/mDhHXsEmdOw

Performance is just ok because I'm forced to run the game at 1920x1080 resolution, as in native res the UI doesn't scale and it becomes unclickable. Performance at native res is 60fps locked at max settings, at HD it's about 25-30 which is totally playable, although the power/battery usage isn't ideal. Would be awesome if Stardock could support lower resolution scaling to future proof the game for the increasingly popular gaming portable PC market.

There is no plan for a lower screen resolution at this time. IIRC the engine will not support it is what was said.

Lowering from HD to 4x can help with some performance issues I run it on my desktop and it is a powerful Alienware Gamer.

What do you mean 4x?

My bad 4K UI size.

It helps the GPU some I also run anti-aliasing at 2x.

Not sure I follow you. HD resolution is lower than 4k.

I changed my graphics settings months ago at the Developers suggestion I must have confused anti-aliasing with UI if so its the AA setting to 2X that will help with graphics problems. My rig was running fans at high speeds constantly lowering the AA helped slow them.

Try the higher UI also see if it helps your scaling.

Also make sure you Graphic drivers are up to date although I'm sure you have. (standard response)

This is a SteamDeck so graphic drivers aren't really relevant as such (well you could upgrade but the graphics stack is managed by Valve). It's a relatively low powered APU, but it has no problem running much more demanding games at its native resolution, which is 1280x800. I already have antialiasing at 2x.
