I tried playing multiplayer with a friend, I made a lobby and invited my friend, but it seems that he gets an endless loading screen and is unable to join the lobby, we tried having him make the lobby but then I get the endless loading screen.
Is there anyone who knows what's happening and if there is a easy fix to it.
Has multiplayer ever worked for either of you with each other or anyone else?
Are you trying to play from a save or a new game?

It's our first time playing multiplayer, we went in to the multiplayer option and the new game, a lobby starts and I cab send an invite but my friend gets stuck on the loading screen.
If he cancels it says that he has left in the lobby chat
Is there anyone else you have tried to play with that does \ does not work (either of you)? If it was not clear, I want to see if the issue is systemic or personal.

Neither one of us try it with anyone else, should we try joining a random server first?
That would be a valid test and likely exclude one of you from the issue.

We both tried joining a random session, my friend joins instantly but I can join any session.
My brother and I just had this exact same issue this morning. We are using the Epic Games Store version of the game. We started a game a few days ago and saved it after three turns. We returned today to continue playing. I hosted it on my Intel i9 9900K system.
My brother got the spinning galaxy load screen. We rebooted the game a few times. Then I had us run the game via the Epic Launcher (launched as ADMIN). He had the spinning galaxy and after about a minute, he finally loaded into the lobby. No issues during gameplay.
I'll post again if we have any issues when we continue. We made it to turn 15 and then saved today.
