Population Growth Question

Foreign citizens hurting growth?

Hi All, So I noticed something which I thought was strange.  On my homeworld I build a Krynnaic Alter and a Torian academy granting me four citizens.  I noticed an odd thing happened when I built the Torian Academy, the turns till next citizen jumped from 28 turns to 40 turns after the torians arrived.

I suspect there was a jump to 28 weeks when I built the Krynnaic alter. What happened?  Is this a bug or is because I only have one human on the planet? Currently all my other core worlds have better growth than my homeworld which were populated with humans.  But aside from the random jump how many population points does it take to produce a citizen?  5.55/wk is decent no?

Thanks for the advice/feedback.  See the screenshot below:

Population, or citizen, growth is very strange.  It wasn't noticed until 0.70 because that's when a value in the xml was changed.  This caused the population growth to take many more turns.  I did a lot of testing that was reported on Discord.  That value will be changed to be much closer to the original value in the next update.

Other players were reporting what you have seen, so I did some testing of that also.  It showed very clearly that the population increase took more and more turns as the population increased.  It was always there, but it wasn't very obvious until the change that was made in 0.70.

In version 0.65, when the population of a planet increased from 5 to 8, the turns to get a new citizen increased from 10 to 17.  In version 0.70, the turns needed to get a new citizen increased from 59 to 291.

I'm not sure what the 5.55 value does.  It doesn't seem to have a lot to do with how long it takes to get the next citizen.

Many thanks for the response! Any work around for this or are we stuck with it for a little while.

I'll be patient with the bugs but this one is frustrating.

Do not quote me but I believe Frogboy said this was one of the fixes he added to the next patch. It should drop this week.

This answers questions I had. Populations should increase at a faster rate as you add more people and I'm not observing this.

Once again a big thanks to Old-Spider and our other veteran players. They're doing great helping us find problems and refine the game.
