Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21343 Icons

Installing the new icons in 21H1

I purchased Icon Packager yesterday to install the new icons from Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21343. Someone on Reddit extracted the new icons from the imageres.dll and shell32.dll libraries for download and I successfully installed most of the new icons. Unfortunately, Icon Packager has not been updated since the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update which was released in October of 2017, so some of the icons from 21H1 are not available. Icon Packager worked perfectly on 21H1 and I was able to implement most of the new icons.

Please consider an Icon Packager update once 21H2 has been released. This is an extremely useful app and I think an updated version would promote more widespread use. B)

Which icons are a problem for you?

Mostly new control panels like Recovery, Trouble shooting, Windows Mobility Center, Storage Spaces, etc.

Also, am having to apply the icon set multiple times for it to apply all the changes.

Microsoft is changing almost all of the icons for Windows in the upcoming 21H2 (Sun Valley) version, and I'm sure there are going to be a lot of folks looking for ways to either change them back or to something completely different. Even if you have to raise the price, it would be worth the expense.B)

+1    from my side, I am a user for Icon Packager since more than a year (WIndows 10 version), I really love this program not only for how it helped us change the look of win10's default icons (which are not appealing to me personally) but also it has a feature in (Right-CLick) menu for individual files to change their icons (for example, I have a 3D program called Substance Painter, its files have a format called (.spp) , IconPackager let me Right Click any of those files & select ((Change Icon)) & it will easily on the fly change icons for that format allover your whole win10.

I wish to see an update for IconPackager soon because this little software deserves to stay.

Yes, now that many Windows 10 users will not be able to upgrade to Windows 11, it would be great to have an update to Icon Packager. For us tweakers, it would be nice to at least be able to use the icons from windows 11.

Please consider updating Icon Packager to include all the Windows 10 icon sets!

Thanks B)
