how do you add the updates after backing the game up to get it working again

does anyone know how to reload updates after having to backdate the game to get it working again. I had to go back to 2.8 something to clear a load issue, but now can not use all of the DLC's

2.8 is a pretty old back-version, and was released before many of the DLCs. I suspect you won't have much luck, the game has gone through many changes since then. Better off finding what the issue was that prevented you from playing.

I have gone back through the game and done all the things that everyone has suggested. All files were deleted that I could fine, Then restarted computer. Still locking up at building players. I have no idea were to look in the files to find the problem. My programming skills are about 30 years out of date. So, if anyone has an idea of were to start looking and what to look for it would be great.
