v3.96 bug promoting administrator to minister
tooltip says, and its always been this way, that promoting an administrator to minister gives you +5 administration capacity. upon making the promotion, it only gives +4 instead.

-1 for losing an administrator from your global pool. The math is right the wording is wrong.
if that were the case then promoting a general should only give you 4 legions but it gives you 5.
Not true, for two reasons. (1) promoting a general does not retire that general, (2) generals give bonus to resistance, not legions
i just reread the promotion pop up description and it states ‘promoting an administrator will give you 5 MORE administrators’, not a net 5 minus the one for the administrator.
it should be you get 5 more. period. 🤷🏼♂️
the original administrator gives 4, and sits in a governmental seat which gives one more. Once promoted, this administrator gives up his post, removing one administrator from the pool, but giving 5 more.
If you want to bitch about this ad nauseum, just find another game. There are lots of UI bugs.
The problem with that is, there ARE no other games of this type and quality. Just Stellaris, as far as I know, and it's in way worse shape than GC3 is since they shot themselves in the foot (my opinion) with the Pop system, rendering it unplayable on all but the smallest map sizes.
If a person wants to play a game like GC3 (and I frequently do) there really is no alternative (again, as far as I know), and being forced over to different types of games, no matter how good, for several *years* at a time is really soul-wrenching. On the other hand, some ppl (maybe just me due to my Asperger's, I don't know) have a very low tolerance for bugs, and even harmless ones bother us (just me?) a LOT. Because even UI bugs like this break immersion. And I get really steamed when it's something (as a lot of GC3's bugs are) that would've taken all of 5 minutes to fix on their end, and they've had, what, 3 years? 5 years? to fix it, and couldn't be bothered to. Not once. Ffs if it were me I would've stayed late at the office a few nights and worked free, just to power through all these little things that have been clearly spelled out on the forum since forever. JUST out of sheer pride in my work, or in a product I was affiliated with. But no, nothing like that ever happened. Of course not. Sigh.
Oh, right, I was going to try out ES2 at some point, I totally forgot... Not really high hopes for that either. At least if I can make it through another year of boredom then C:S2, CK3, and D4 will be out and I can be adequately distracted from what I ACTUALLY want to be doing (modding and playing a *bug-free* version of GC3). Well, that and MGO and DAoC, which are long since dead and buried... sigh. And starting my own company to make DAoC2, which is also never going to happen obviously. SIGH. Guess I better shut up now.
This is honestly the kind of mood that thinking about GC3 puts me in. ORIGINAL POINT: People that want to "bitch about this ad nauseum" deserve our complete and total support, at least as far as I'm concerned. Hate on me if you must.
