3.7 Bug List

3.7 Bug List

Why are these still bugs?

I've played 3.7 Tutorial, after a long layoff, and I've already found these:  I thought 3.7 was supposed to be a QoL update? #2 goes back at least to the Stone Age.

  1. In the Tutorial, the City requirements are those of Synthetics.  But the player is and must be Terran. Update: Incorrect.
  2. On the main menu screen, the Manual button pulls up Manual version 1.03, which has been obsolete since the Stone Age.  I don't know where it's getting it, but the current manual is already on the player's computer.  Why not use it, or at least point it out? Update: Fixed in 3.8.
  3. Same screen, the Wiki button takes you not to the wiki but to a page trying to sell you the game you obviously already have.  Huh??  Update: Fixed in 3.8.
  4. On the Steam launcher menu, top right dropdown, the Game Guide button is broken.  It goes nowhere.  Update:  Fixed.  Now it goes the Wiki.  Perhaps it should go to the Manual, but at least the link is no longer broken.
  5. I don't know if this qualifies as a bug, but the Tutorial scenario in 3.7 is a pale shadow of that in 2.33.  Colonizing Precipice is a mere distraction.  And your friendly neighborhood Iconian may be your biggest hinderance.  Fortunately, the Drenghin is no threat at all; he never even leaves orbit. This gives the player time to work around the effects of Bug #1.  But a Tutorial shouldn't take 300 turns to complete.

More as I discover them.

I assume you meant anomalies, because artifacts are something else.
End of Moser_Alchemist's quote

No.  I mean Artifacts.  "Anomalies" is a generic term for any of the stuff a surveyor can find in space, including Space Junk, Capsule, Starship Graveyard, and Artifact.

11) The minor races have shipyards yet never build ships. Not one. Huh?
End of DMF's quote

I normally play with minor races turned off, but I still sometimes get the Brayniak event that generates a minor race. In my current game they've built two freighters at their shipyard. Haven't sent them anywhere yet, but they have built them.

13) I noted "relic stealing" in an earlier game (3.7?). When you set up a SB (with appropriate modules) closer to the relic than the existing foreign owner, the relic switches output to the closest SB. Anyway, in 3.8 it no longer does this. Is it supposed to?
End of DMF's quote

I've never seen a relic get stolen unless the owning starbase gets destroyed.  I don't think it's supposed to get stolen.

Surprised the fool out of me when in happened.  Suddenly my relics aren't producing.  I check and the AI has stolen my relics.  So I stole them back.  To me that's silly.

14)  You can select Anomalies on the mini-map.  Might as well select "nothing" because nothing displays.  Tried it with normal fow and fow revealed.  All zoom levels.  It just doesn't work and hasn't for a while.

Tech "Recovery" gives mining +1 (!!!) instead of 0.1

This extremely boring bug in one of earliest techs was fixed some time ago but now it did turn back. So even if I self impose a rule not to research it/not to exploit it, the AI wont know a difference and will sell those resources right and left. How boring.

6) The BIG one: The events are fubar.

* 30+ planets colonized: NO Ideology event. I have no Ideology so no benefits and every hates me. This can't be intentional.
* I keep getting warnings from other civilizations that I'm using Precursor relics, even when I'm not. ...
* A couple times I've gotten, "Don't trade with infidels."
* Other than these, no events have occurred by turn 76. Not even, "Our mutual trade makes us closer."
End of DMF's quote

After turn 150 now. Instead of spamming warnings about relics, the game is spamming warnings about a weak military, despite the fact that my military is much the strongest.

Also the regular begging and whining about being attacked by some evil aliens.

Still NOTHING Ideology related.

Events in MW are a mess.

3.9 Milky Way campaign.

15) On the diplomatic Report screen - the full screen version accessible from a selected position, the flyovers for the Racial Traits are wrong.  They seem to be those for the Terran traits (I'm playing Terran).   Also, the Relation(?) field shows either Neutral (greyed out) or At War (red).  It does now reflect the race's current opinion of you.  I suspect this is related to the No-Ideology bug.
