Citizen portraits HELP

I am trying to figure out how to get the citizen portraits back for when I am making a custom civilization. I saw a post about copying something from Steam/steamapps/whatever to my game files, but I can't find the Steam files to copy anywhere. Why did you guys have to make this so difficult? Why can't the portraits just be in the regular game automatically like they used to be? Yes I am computer fucking stupid, that's why I pay money for a game, so somebody else takes care of the annoying stuff for me. Except you still make it annoying even after I paid money for it. I really need to break this addiction for this game so I stop giving you money just to annoy the shit out of me.

I'm not clear on exactly what you're asking for.  But perhaps this excerpt from wiki.galciv.com might help:

Click the "Choose Portraits" button to bring up a screen for selecting the images for your citizens. The game comes with several to choose from; you can add your own still images by copying them to the citizen portrait folder. The PNG image should have an aspect ratio of 1:1. The recommended resolution is 128x128. The default path to the citizen portrait folder is C:\Users\(Your username)\Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade\Factions\CitizenPortraits

To add a portrait, select it and click the "Add Male" or "Add Female" buttons at the bottom of the screen. To see which portraits you have already added, click the My Portraits tab at the top of the screen.

When a new citizen is generated, the game will randomly assign a gender-appropriate first name, last name, and portrait to it.

Never mind, I finally found the folders needed to copy to the other folders that are actually part of the game.
