AI understanding when it's beaten

It's a little thing but it's good that the AI knows when it's beaten.

I've actually had the Drengin beg me for peace before.  But it's usually when they're within 5 turns or less of complete annihilation.

And when they know that you're the one that's beaten, there is no way to beg, bribe or anything else to get them to make peace with you.  They will just grind you into nothing, so don't get into that situation.

It would be rather nice if there was a vassal-esque system. We could potentially surrender to the AI (for -30% econ/research perhaps, and a big morale penalty) for a period of time/etc.

End of Gauntlet03's quote

Conditional Surrender would make for an interesting mechanic, but it would also be nice to able to surrender, then watch the AI play against itself.  For the latter, the point would be seeing the outcome of us surrendering.
