Needed fixes, any suggestions

So a couple of annoying issues with the game.

Is there any way (perhaps via a hack) to set planet build items to auto repeat? For example setting a planet to auto building research would be nice.

It is incredibly annoying that such a simple feature isn't present. I don't like to set planet to governor built as it makes generally poor choices. It would be nice to set a planet to fixed resource or money while working at unlocking more advanced planet enhancements.

Also is there a way to choose which direction to have ships exit a planet? I've had the odd occurrence where ships get trapped because of a durantium mine or asteroid prevents the ships from leaving one side of a planet basically permanently trapping the fleet.

Both issues are very annoying, hopefully someone has some kind of fix for them.

Thanks

Auto building is called the governor. If you do not like the AI, then you could just queue up the build list yourself, you know, which is basically the same as a customized auto-build. =/ Just select a tile, choose the building you want to build there, and click build to queue it up. It will build until the build list is empty, and then ask you for instructions.

If you are talking about a ship exiting a planet then you can manually move it yourself, instead of using the eject button. Select the ship you want to move from the list of ships on the planet, and then click on where you want it to move to, just like you would if you were to move it normally in open space.

Thanks for the suggestion on moving, did not know that was possible

Regarding auto building,  it's more a mid game issue when I am busy researching combat unlocks and have run out of planet enhancements I want to build. Especially with smaller planets, I typically want to save tiles for late game structures

I am not really sure what you mean setting the build items to auto repeat, honestly, especially since research is mainly just upgrades once you lay down the basic labs, and there is an auto-upgrade option that is on by default. Late game buildings are mostly unique buildings that you want to specifically set down yourself anyway.

In the case of running out of things to build, though, you either just have to switch back to researching colony improvements, upgrading improvements, or set the colony to work on a project, like aid research.

GalCiv II had an option to set the direction your ships would eject, a minor feature that relieves micromanagement.

I think the OP means autorepeat planetary projects. GalCiv pre-3.0 (or so) had them automatically on autorepeat, what as very annoying because e. g. when you researched a new planetary improvement tech that gave you a new tile you had to manually switch through all your planets to remove the autorepeat projects to first build the new tile and then build something on it before you could again reactivate the project.

So I like it much better the way it is now, but even better would just be an option (much requested, never implemented).

Oh, that. yeah..., actually I do have big issues with planetary projects expiring now without any way to disable notifications for an empty queue, especially when you have a bunch of fully built, fully upgraded planets. The only solution for me right now is to set a bunch of them, and then turn the wheel away from production.

I do not mind having to manually remove the projects, but having to dup them a million times so I will not be bothered by planets asking for things to do is a major pain.

I do mind either wasting production, or forgetting to shut off auto, and not building infrastructure. The solution is your way would be to check every planet every turn so as to not do the above. My compromise would be have global governor options with every planet with local governors that can override this. This would cut down on micromanagement.
