GC3 Crusade 2.5 opt-in fleet battle bug?

I formed a fleet consisting of a medium hull capital custom ship and the mercenary The Ysegard, which is classified as a support ship for some reason.  Anyway, I attacked a precursor anomaly, defended by the usual fleet of pirates.  My capital ship did all of the attacking until it was destroyed, and only after that did the Ysengard start to take part in the battle.  At that point the battle viewer showed negative hit points and ships:

Edit: I have no idea why the screenshot is not showing up clearly.  I note that the Stardock forum system seems to have changed the way you embed jpgs and pngs, perhaps that's it.  Anyway, you should be able to see that the hitpoints and number of ships in my fleet are negative.

I would have expected the Ysengard to fire at the pirates before my other ship was destroyed.  Perhaps it was too far away, but the viewer was showing it in front.  Anyway, the negative numbers seem like a definite bug.

There is a bug that has existed for a long time (at least since the first release of Crusade) that makes support ships appear at the front of the battle, when they are really at the back. I'm saying "really at the back" because that's where they are supposed to start combat according to the GalCiv III docs that I read.

I posted a thread about this quite a while ago, with a video clip that shows the problem: https://forums.stardock.com/484035/page/1/#3684582

In the video clip, you can see my support ships go straight through the enemy fleet with nobody firing at each other. I suspect that the ship positions in the Battle Viewer are wrong, and the ships don't fire at each other because they aren't really near each other. It is only after all non-support ships in my fleet are destroyed that the enemy ships treat them as priority targets and close on them to finish them off.

Here is a link to the documentation I mentioned: https://galciv3.gamepedia.com/Ship_roles

Thanks, I thought I remembered a problem report about that.

Have you seen that recently?  We put a fix in for that a few months ago.
EDIT: I mean all support ships flying through the battle with no one firing.

Yes, that's part of what I was reporting in the original post.  It's happening in my current 2.5 opt-in game with The Ysengard never firing but being out front.

Well foo then.  I'll ask someone to look into it.

Confirmed. I'm playing a 2.5 game where my unarmed support ship was flying out in front of the rest of the fleet when it was attacking a starbase.
