Who makes the best fries?

Who makes the best fries?

After reading Frogboy's thread, I decided to start this thread so we don't hijack his.

Who makes the best fries? I say Jack In The Box.

Fact is:

Some Burger Kings are better than others in different areas. Some Wendys are better than others in different areas.

McDonalds sucks everywhere.

They're fries are ok, but everything else is garbage.

I don't like french fries from anywhere. I never order them, so I can't compare. I like potatoes mashed, baked, etc., but I don't like french fires. Don't like steak fries, either. I guess I just don't like deep fried potatoes...actually, I guess I just don't like deep fried food...

But, maybe Lady Akasha or WOM's home made french fries could change my mind

actually thought of another place , growing up, that used to have good fries. Way back in the town my folks settled in to retire was an old Walgreens that had a dinner/counter section and they made some excellent fries and shakes (think afterschool treat) that was many many yrs ago tho and doubt, if any were still in business, that they'd be as good today.

Local chip shop had it right but they passed to new management recently. New chips are too greasy and not at all the same.

Best chips are made from Maris Piper potatos (not sure I spelled it correctly)

I do like MacDonalds fries though

If you wait till the grease is hot before you put the potatoes in, they will come out less greasy. And if you cheat and use some animal fat (like MacD's does) the fries will taste even better.

Best chips (not fries, silly name) come from Maris Piper (as pipowell says) and are blanched in lard then fried at max temp, again in lard. Perfect!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmm
