Requests: Asteroids and auto upgrades

Hi,

Since asteroids have become so important in Crusade, I wonder if we could have them more clearly marked on the map - with my rather poor eyesight I miss them quite easily and sometimes don't know whether they've been utilised without hovering with the mouse. A list of unused ones would be even better, if more work for Stardock

The other thing is auto upgrades in planets. I know that some people just have them turned off and this has become sensible with the new resource system since otherwise you're constantly looking for upgrades to refuse to get enough resources - Durantium especially -  to build other things. This particularly applies to silicon races where it's a pain having enough left to build cities as necessary.

Global buttons re upgrades would be a start and perhaps eventually we could even specify when to auto upgrade - ie which resources we had enough of so that the planet governors could do their thing and which had to be conserved unless otherwise specified by the player. (There would be a list - Do not auto upgrade if this uses and then the various main resources).

Cheers,

Jon

Oh yeah, that often requested "stop auto-upgrade globally" option ...

This should be simple. Just don't have auto-upgrades as default. ie..if you want auto-upgrades you have to turn it on.

Despite being supposedly simple it was never implemented yet ...

also, in regards to asteroids, can you please make it so when you assign one to a planet, it sticks, instead of resetting to closest default each time you colonize a new world

that would be nice

I just finished reading Brad's excellent article on polish, gameplay, and price.  The auto-upgrade feature is one of those polish points that seem small but affect nearly every player's impression of polish.  That would seem to warrant a higher priority on some team's work list.  I wait, somewhat impatiently now, for something to be resolved that has been a raised QOL issue since day 1 of initial release.  The shipyards and upgrade constructors got exactly this kind of mechanism. This never got exactly the same implementation that could have made, theoretically, at the same time for the Govern Planet screen as it was done for constructors.  Again, this has been mentioned and theoretically known by the devs, since day 1 or before.  Again theoretically, it should not require re-inventing the wheel to implement the same solution with the little gears icons.

I consider myself one of the more patient people as compared to many on forums, and I no longer understand what times we have to wait for resolution of lingering QOL requests.

+1 On a way to turn off auto-upgrades.  Factory upgrades are too expensive.  Influence upgrades are actually downgrades (this is probably a bug though).

I agree on both points.  Over the Memorial Day weekend Brad (among many many other updates) changed the Consulate but neglected its upgrades, so I agree it's a bug that the "upgrades" are actually "downgrades".

Looks like the Consulate downgrade problem was fixed with Friday's patch, but I still want an easier way to stop the auto-upgrades for Factories.  My Duritanium is too precious in the early and mid-game for that.
