Old Ship designs in Crusade?

So i'm much more of a casual gamer these days and tend to not mod much. I had a bunch of custom ship designs back in Base GCIII that have all vanished in Crusade.

Is there any reason why I cannot copy those templates from the base folder and drop them into the Crusade folder?
