Is it possible to limit the zoom in?

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to limit the "zoom in", so I would not fall in the mode were the icones are transfert to more define images?

If it is possible, would it help my graphic card in the bigger maps?

Thank you.

PS. I have made a post about it before: https://forums.galciv3.com/472407/page/1/#3614833

Would it be possible to add an option that made it?

In the Interface tab under options there are 9 sliders that set zoom levels for different objects to switch between graphical display and icons.  Might try playing with those.

Hello,

I have try.

Those options make certain objects invisible, depending of the level of the zoom, this is not what I want.

I would like the objects to always stay as icon and never fall into the more fancy graphic mode when I zoom in.

PS. Sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker.

edit MapSizeDefs.xml  and change MinCameraZoom.  Increase it for each map size to limit how far you can zoom in.  I had to do this to prevent crashes on a computer with V old graphics card

The original wat to do it was :

File:  MapSizeDefs.xml

Change: <MinCameraZoom>100.0</MinCameraZoom>  to  <MinCameraZoom>2900.0</MinCameraZoom>

But, I used it and it didn't work. Is there somethinig different to do now?

Thank you.

You cant edit core game files anymore, you mave to copy paste them into a mod folder.

I'd like to toss in a request for this as well. I don't have resource/playability issues on most of my computers, but I just prefer to play the game in its entirety using the zoomed out iconography. I have nothing against the pretty stuff, but the game is more playable for me when I can see more stuff onscreen with clearly delineated borders. Maybe just add a checkbox to entirely disable the pretty graphics or add a slider to change the render distance.

as said above, this works but it has to be a MOD for crusade, edit the file and save it in your crusade mod directory

Yeah, I saw that and I appreciate the suggestion. I'll try it tonight. I was just thinking that might be a good thing to add to the base game without need of making a mod.
