Default settings

It would be nice if the game could have additional default settings (or remember settings) from game to game.

 

  • Default Colonyship/Transportship population
    • I often start the game with 1.5 to keep up my production on my homeworld.
    • Hate having to set it every time I launch a new ship.
    • remembering a setting for each type would be great
  • Research view (Tree or Basic)
    • The game will remember once your in, but every time I start the game (load or new) I have to reset it
  • Shipyard filters
    • I hate having to set these the first time after I restart a game.

 

Another nice feature would more info for "Saved" games.

  • Comment field

Additional options....

  • Upgrade all modules for Star Bases as they become available (not just auto if already added.)
    • I hate having to go through 100 star bases just to add a new module that is a new type.
    • Also could just have a default Economic/Military/Mining base template one could select to have all of this type of star base follow if chosen to do so.  
  • Remember slider options - manufacturing - research - economic (especially if the player normally just sets this once and has it go.
    • I'm one that just set's this and leaves it for most of the game, I would like it to remember so I don't have to re-set it every game.
  • Remember Map Zoom options.
    • I always have it set to the furthest zoom option where I still can see all the fancy planets/ships/star bases prior to them switching to icons.
    • By default it's always zoomed in a bit further so I always have to adjust it.

If you go to Global defs you can change the default pop for colony ships. I change mine to 1....

 

<MinShipPopulation>.5</MinShipPopulation>
<DefaultShipPopulation>2.5</DefaultShipPopulation>
<ReservedColonyPopulation>1.0</ReservedColonyPopulation>
