Fails to load

I just purchased GalCiv3 and it will not load. Problem as follows: Program will display the splash screen then switch to a blank black screen and that is it. Program is unresponsive in Task manager.

I have run the default troubleshooting tree and responded to my ticket #KXS-807-51994

  PC as follows: i7-4700mq 2.4GHz 8MB ram 64 bit win 8.1 OS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M Graphics 

Actions taken:

I run as an administrator

clean install of program 

clean install of NVIDA drivers

update onbord GFX drivers

set the Prefs to low res

Run in High performance mode

Force the program to use the NVIDA card

verified program files 

vcredist_x64 program

ran DXsetup program

And other stuff I am forgetting to list. Any ideas?

I don't know what your doing with your graphics there??

 

There should not be any confusion over which graphics your computer is using? If you have a card installed then you should not be updating the on board graphics drivers, that should be disabled in bios.

Laptop PC. I have read that some intel drivers were causing confusion on what mode to use. Power saver or high performance. And yes, on other games, STO, I have had issues where the on board gfx card was, insanely enough, set as default. It was a thing to try. did not help me out.

Hmmm yea, allot of complaints going around about the dual graphics setup.

 

Personally i don't like that type of thing.... better to get the proper singular dedicated graphics that you want to begin with and know its going to do what you want it to do without the headache.
