I haven't seen it in awhile, but the colony ship is still not exploring all the spaces around it when it moves. Especially the ones behind it. I'm talking about uncovering spaces that are within sensor range.
I have seen this with survey vessels too, weirdly a few turns later the unexplored ares of its path showed as explored.
