Game suddenly won't load [1.82]

Out of the blue, the game wont load. The GC3 splash screen shows for 1-2 seconds then disappears. Then nothing happens.

It was working fine a few days ago. And was working fine on my desktop last evening.

I've been through the relevant items of your Troubleshooting page. I've deleted the game from steam and renamed the GC3 folders. Then reinstalled. No change.

All my other steam games are working fine on this machine. Nothing to my knowledge has changed to this machine.

I've submitted a support ticket.

You using mods? Thers is a bug with to many Text Strings that causes the game to fail to load.

I would like to use two of your mods - as we discussed in other threads - but the game won't let me get that far!

I guess you updated your drivers already?

Its likely to be graphics or memory i think?

 

I find the game became more unstable after adding some DLC and i had to update my Wireless drivers.

 

How is your virtual memory set up?

My video card drivers are totally up-to-date.

As far as I know I have the latest wireless drivers too.

Virtual mem is 2432 MB for all drives (I only have one drive) (Windows 10).

I tried clearing the Steam cache and the game seemed to be loading for a number of seconds but then crapped out again.

GC3 is working fine on my desktop, just not on this laptop. All my other Steam games are working on this laptop.

I find laptops become increasingly slower over time, its bizarre. What i mean is, when my laptop is new, it feels fast, as i use it over time, very slowly it becomes increasingly slower. It does not seem to happen like that with my desktop computers, just the laptops.

I would bet money that if you did a drastic format and reload windows, then Galciv will work fine. But wait for your support ticket before doing that
