Bugs and Requests

Hi guys - Ralegh here - I'm back to 4x gaming, and giving GavCilIII a spin. Lots of great progress since the alpha, but I have a list of "issues" to submit.

1. I bought a trade ship from another race. When I sent it to a planet I got "Cannot trade. Trade ship has no assigned home planet." I tried sending to one of my planets, and I tried upgrading it, but couldn't seem to fix it.  Can we provide a way to assign a home planet? (Note the potential 'abuse' of building ships in one location, and rehoming them elsewhere - I think its desirable!)

2. The screen selecting an ideology isn't friendly to my colour blindness - I can't tell which ones have been selected, which are available, and which are not yet available.  Could we have the different circles around the outside of the items reflect their status?

3. Can we have a FIND command, where I can enter the name of a planet or system, and if it is visible to me, have the screen jump there?

4. Sometimes on the main map I would like to be able to hide the asteroids/stars/deadworlds (or just switch to a view that only shows settled planets and ships/bases).

5. When using Govern/Commands/Ships/Upgrade, could we see the estimated cost? Or have a prompt for spending which will take you red?  I blew my economy!

6. Scrolling down in the Bazaar isn't smooth - sometimes its hard to get it moving.  Perhaps a scroll bar? Or 3 'tabs'?

7. How many votes do the minor races get in the UP? - The screen only shows the majors!

8. If I have a fleet in a hex and move another ship into the fleet (within the logistics capacity of the fleet), about 80% of the time the fleet "wakes up", losing its Sentry or Guard command.  I'd like it to not do that!

9. On the fleets tab, could I have an option to show/hide fleets in orbit (of a planet or starbase). Sometimes I'd prefer not to have to scroll through all my defensive forces.

10. If an alien race cannot have war declared upon it, can I have some indicator of why, and maybe how long it will last? (Assuming the Ideology reward is the reason)

Oh yea, i noticed your point on ideology too..... well i take the time to play around until i am totally sure which one i think might possibly be selected! lol

This is a bug and according to the updated patch 1.7 opt-in notes has been corrected.

I would like an indicator of voting power prior to voting, say if I have 49% voting power I know that my vote most likely will win unless everyone votes against me.  if I have 8% of the vote I know I am weak.  Right now you only can see this after the vote.  Plus I would like the final results say Yes received 54% of the vote No received 46% of the vote.  And if something needed I higher percent to win, indicate why the motion failed such as this resolution failed as it needed 80% of the vote to pass and only received 65% of the vote ect...

Thanks for the suggestions.  The bazaar should have a thin scroll bar on the right side.  Is it not showing up for you?

@Seilore - thanks for that. I'm playing 1.7, so I suppose it's not fixed.  Wonder if they would like saved games showing the problem?

@pshaw - I haven't seen it... Might be my colour vision - I'll peer more closely...

Guard: We added it in the latest opt-in last week.  You sometimes need to restart steam for opt-ins to update correctly.  If its still a problem, then please let me know.

Don't know what "Guard" is referring to, maybe I have missed something...

I think you're referring to the save game bug, which you had stated that 1.7 - 2 you had a fix for, than several of us pointed out was still sticking and, in which you had replied you had another fix coming for?  If this has been launched it's still happening...

Edit: Was thinking of different post and issue, Larsenex corrected me :)

Gaurd keeps the fleet/ship there without having it ping back. It does nothing other than keep the ship there,

 

Sentry does the same thing except if any faction cruises into view the 'sentried' fleet will pull you back for an action before letting the turn end. 

 

Does that make sense?

I'm not color blind and I too have trouble detecting which ones have been selected.  Like Mistikmind mentioned, I click on on them until I find the next one I want that hasn't already been selected.

At least they finally fixed guard now the turn will stop. When a enemy is near.

I agree the guard thing is fixed - getting Steam to do its thing helped.

I sure can't see a scroll bar - and the screen doesn't react the way I would expect of something with a scroll bar!

On the Bazaar screen I scroll up and down using the mouse wheel.  Works fine.

The problem with the bazaar screen is the mouse scrolling only works if the mouse cursor is over the list of mercenary ships and does not work along either side
