Using massive memory

I am running 32gigs of ram and when playing the game it uses up 70% of it.

No other game I have does that, I can run FAR CRY Primal on max setting and not use that much and I do not get screen freezes of over a minute sometimes like I do in GC3.

It also will not display battles till they are over with..

I have a ticket in on this but it's been over a week and i would really like to play the game.

I have checked what programs are using ram to see if it is something else and it is not. I have the latest drivers and DirectX 12..

Can someone please help me with this..

no other game out there is 64bit... true 64 bit and not a 32 bit running with 64bit extensions...

As a true 64 bit software it has the ABILITY to use more ram.  as your computer has 32 gigs of ram  and it is using 70% of it this means you still have around 10 gigs of ram free...

I'm not seeing why this is a problem....

Tasilios is correct. The game is using it because it can. What size maps are you playing on?  Far Cry is 32bit not 64bit.

That said, The battles not showing up until they are over is not related to the memory use and that is actually a problem.

What sort of video card and or settings are you running?

The reason this is an issue it makes the game freeze and lag.. No other game I own takes this much memory..  And there should be no reason for this one to take that much memory

The map sizes are set so that they will fit on a 16 Gig PC, even if not with the best performance.  I don't think there is any normal mode that would take up the resources cited in the OP.  I suggest putting in a ticket with Stardock.  Something wrong is happening between your system memory allocation and the game itself.  Their diagnostics might hold a clue.

hmmm i would have guessed the largest 2 map sizes are a bit more toward future proofing the game than being viable for the average computer right now?

Once you start having colonies and empires and ships all over the place, your computer is just going to go 'blahhhhh'

That's a healthy rig, all right.  Good luck with your ticket.
