Clear, explicit UI

Diplomacy Screen

This has kinda bugged me for a long time. I don't just want a forum reply of "the one on the right is what they're offering, the one on the left is what they want in return" (I think that's the way it is?).  Ambiguous screens like this just kinda bug me.  How hard would it be to put a label of "They are offering:" above what they are offering and "They ask for:" above what they are asking for in return for the offer?

Please consider clarifying this screen in a future patch, and carefully look over every UI screen to always seek to reduce ambiguity.

Thanks!

Could we maybe also get a faction name / leader name at the top for those random diplomacy pop-ups?  Yeah its really easy to tell the terrans from the drengin, but what If I play with lots of custom races, that have the same picture, but with a different background or different icon???  Its nearly impossible to remember all the races in my 50-60 AI games.  I hardly ever have any Idea who is contacting me with those popups for tribute/war/tech/etc.

I think it's pretty clear/logical. Your stuff is all on the left, so the stuff you give up goes in the left box. That's not to say the interface is perfect. The ship design menus need the most work, IMO. There needs to be some way to sort and filter all the designs. I'd really appreciate an "upgrade design" button, where you update the components, then it's automatically named and saved as a successor to the previous design, which is now hidden from view. Then, next time you play, the base design will automatically be replaced with your upgrade once you get all the requisite technology.

The race name would be most helpful, I'd rather not memorize images and as myles pointed out multiple races using the same image can be very confusing.

Top of the screen is the name of the leader. Top right the name of the faction.

For the other comments, I agree. The clearer the UI is the better.

Actually I'm not so sure.  Declining this, going to the diplomacy screen, this minor race CANNOT offer "Open Borders" which leads me to suspect they're offering 608 bc to receive Open Borders from me.

Again, there should be explicit "they're offering" / "they want from us" labels.

IIRC, the open borders treaty always appears on your side of the trade screen, since it's a two-way treaty, but that doesn't imply the AI couldn't offer it. In any case, if you don't believe me, try accepting the next trade to see what happens.
