Do you guys know how long the wait was from StarCraft 1 to starcraft 2? 1996 to 2010. 14 Years but ofcourse they were expansion packs inbetween.
The wait for this game is going to be just as painful because these days strategy games like this sell to intellectuals or people to want to be intellectuals and dive into the realm of strategy( ). Its like a small percentage of think tanks around the world need this game. Imagine if Sins had a player base like call of duty. Haha. OMG. Ofcourse those games are also short, calculated and there is a time limit.
The build up of RTS fans in the e-spot community is really turning RTS games like Starcraft into the new professional chess players of the 21st Century. A flawless balance of races, quick Battles of less than 40 minutes with limited resources to get the job done. Your just forced to expand because time is limited, you can't play all day long and each game is unique to some level of excitement.
The learning curve ofcourse becomes the challenge. The game is as fast or complex because hotkeys and experience bridge the gap between skill levels. Solar Empire should set itself up not only to just a game where you play for long hours, save and continue later with friends but to incorporate even faster speeds to push the micro and hotkey usage to new heights. Ofcourse, the game needs heroes and there capital ships or titans. The game needs a campaign. The strategic zoom for sins has us covered to many degrees and is a rich feature to a new style of space 4x RTS warfare.
So guys we wait. Even 14 years if we have to because there is no other way to justify spending millions of dollar making a game when RTS games are for the intellectuals..they aint that many . Only the games singleplayer campaign will call others to join and it does not exist. Only the spectators who understand the game will join to watch live tournaments so the learning curve has to be streamlined.
The legacy of the Void Campaign trailer was just insance. The Sins Rebellion Intro is also an amazing intro Video. This game has sooo much pontential that it hurts thinking why its taking so long to be the RTS that Dreamhack hosts for the world space championship.
" Solar Empire" is my take... make it easy for everyone to remeber IRON CLAD/Stardock..make it the new world e-sports to win even $25,000 Dollars for the world Championships. Spend that kind of money each year and host competitions around the world. Oh and make koreans play Solar Empire loool. Doci and Aqua can't be the only fearsome sins players out there.
