Help Me Plan My Endgame

As silly as it sounds to some of you, I almost never won wars in Galciv 3. I finally have and am approaching the age of war era in tech. I'm about 3rd-4 in everything except first in raw production and economy. No AI have been knocked out and I'm wondering if I've delayed too long to take someone out. I fought the Krynn and Yor off and sued for peace but am not sure how to mop up the map. What do you guys usually do at this stage?

Sorry if I'm being vague, I just don't know how to break out and dominate and am afraid if I delay too long, everyone else will catch up in techs near the end of the trees.

1) Pick your weakest, closest neighbor; preferably one you hate.

2) Build a fleet that can shoot down any troublemakers.

3) Stage transports around all of their worlds.

4) Declare War / Invade as many planets as possible in one turn before they can react.

5) Build up captured worlds.

6) Repeat on next-smallest / least favorite neightbor.

It's really all about being a bad neighbor.

* If you haven't already, capture all the Minor Race planets that you can before going after Major Races.

Pay particular attention to stage 3 above - don't under estimate building your transports ahead of time, you want to take your enemy's planets as quickly as possible before they can retaliate.
