Nevermind,
Found this on the steam page
Really? I am going to have to restart a NEW game today!
I didn't need to restart.
My save game was fine but playing with the pre-patch values
I hope this is just random and that they didn't overnerf the occurrence of PC Artifacts as I had to explore more than half a large galaxy to find ONE ! Previously there'd be about 10-12 in a large galaxy. That was clearly too many unless the AI's could also be taught to go after them.
It will be quite a few turns til I know how good this arti is as most of my ships can't yet reach it.
OK that large galaxy had only 2 PC Anomalies. This seems to be too few. I found a selection criteria when launching the game to enable one to selected to increase the amount of them. But so after selecting,"Common" I still see almost no PC Anomalies. Next game I'll select "Abundant.
It seems that these give you about half of what they gave before which is about right, I'd say.
I'm starting to agree that it may be too nerfed after this latest patch. On my first game after the "fixing patch" to nerf the precursor planets/anomalies, playing on a gigantic map and common anomalies I've only encountered 3 of the anomalies and they were so-so ones. I feel a bit spoiled after the initial release.
Yes, there were too many anomalies but now I think the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. Have to play another game with them set higher and see how I feel then. The initial game was on an insane map and there were an insanely large amount of them.
I think the anomaly frequency and effect is ok but I wish they were better guarded with ships of all weapon types. I also think the precursor planets are way too common and should all be extreme planets. I wish there was a slider or something in the map set up.
I don't mind the PC planets since most have food and pop penalties so you need early farm techs. There may be a few too many PC planets now.
The problem with making them all extreme is that is a late age tech. I play on large and with all 9 AI. (ie I take a stock AI, and the other 8 stock AI are in the game) so there's often not too many planets to grab so I'd not want to wait so long to colonize a PC world. Waiting for some is OK but not all.
