I'm having same issue, what did you do to fix it Tilrea?

Sometimes when you just quit the game and try to restart it, the application will think it's still running (as it is still being unloaded). You only need to wait a few minutes for it to terminate properly. Then you can start it again. If you can't wait try exiting Steam. It will then tell you if the game is still running as well.

No, that's right. I suppose it wasn't clear when it was happening. Glad you fixed it.

close your steam and delete your appcache folder in the steam folder then restart your computer thats what fixed it for me now i just need to get 1.5 to work

Achronous yes thats true but not when you just turn you computer on that should not be the case

I've been doing it all wrong since windows ME I've been faithfully using the task manager. Not to mention if you can't do it always try right clicking rule, but this does require to read, so it is a little unrealistic for you just kidding! Go into task manager look under the process list for galactic civilizations 3. Highlight, right click, and end tack will immediately fix this. Or you could use the above idea. I'm a little more impatient than both ideas let alone have the patience to wait for a restart. Waiting would be quicker than the above idea, but if you don't want to wait then end task under your processes makes sense.

Actually neither sorry about the joke I meant none thing by it. I actually found out that if you go to the task manager to exit the game there is no quicker way of doing it; also, it exits in a way that there is no trace after affects, and there does seem to be no kind of program damage. When your in the process part of the task look only for what you want; because it can be dangerous. Restarting the computer when you have the task manager is kind of slow though. As far as smarter there are all kind of things with computers I can't do, and sorry I don't know you. But now we are here what's Achronous. I'm sorry I originally didn't understand the statement. I looked at the appcache folder, and there is a lot of stuff in there. Why is it there?

Thanks, worked for me/

game was trying to start in a window and was non-responsive. I was ready to reinstall when I saw your fix worked like a charm.

I can understand the other posters reluctance. I know folders like that are remade, but deleting stuff is spooky.

He should not to be so sure when dealing with strangers that may be better informed.

Just my random 2cents to help, sometimes when I first start the game I get an instant freeze or crash on the loading screen. Sometimes it happens so fast you can't even tell it opened. When this happens most of the time the stardock sdcrashlog.exe (not exact name but I'm going from memory) is open in the task manager and so all you need to do is force close that in order to start the game correctly. Otherwise you get the game already running error.. (Sorry for the bad grammar typing on my phone)
