Unable to progress through turn actions or end turn

I have had this problem since updating to 1.41.  After some number of turns, between 2 and 20, I notice the game does not respond to some actions such as changing production focus, giving actions to ships, building on planets.  Ships still seem to move, but it is not possible to end the turn.  When I press escape to look at the menu, "Save game", "Load game", and "Main menu" are greyed out, and the mouseover says "Please wait until ship movement, battle, invasion, and colonisation are resolved".  This is not in between turns, this is in the middle of my turn, and it doesn't matter how long I wait, the issue never resolves.

The only way to proceed is to retire of exit the game, then load the most recent autosave.

When I use the steam option to "Verify integrity of game cache", it will find that exactly 7 files are not correctly verified and will be redownloaded.  This seems to fix the problem for some time, but then after another number of turns, the same issue will resurface.  After every time the problem occurs, the steam game cache verification shows the same number of corrupt files.

Any suggestions on how to proceed to fix this bug?

Try pressing TAB to end the turn. Does that fix the issue temporarily?

Does not work, unfortunately.  Would a full reinstall help any more than using the steam game cache verify?

Can you submit a ticket (https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit) with the save game attached so we can take a look?  Thank you.

I've been having the same problem since 1.32 and I am still getting it in 1.41 I keep verifying my local files and it downloads on avg 2.9MB with anything between 5 and 11 files and to be truthful I'm getting quite peed off with it! I have previously submitted a ticket for this I haven't been able to play GC3 for months because of this bug/error!

I'll let you know if my ticket uncovers any fixes.  Good luck!

Take a look at this thread, we also have the issue not only with our turn but the AI. We have a general idea what is causing it, is it the same for you? https://forums.galciv3.com/473130/page/1/#3601677

I'm having a very similar problem. I can end the turn but I can't save the game and like stated above the game won't respond to actions such as adding things to the construction queue (it makes the sound but nothing shows up)

What's really weird is starbase-unique construction modules (like the economic ring) that you're only supposed to have one of. I'll double click to add it, it will make the sound but nothing gets added to the being built list, and if I exit the starbase the construction point wasn't consumed; I can select it again the module is there again and I can double click on the economic ring again. I can do this any number of times and it seems like nothing is happening but the next turn the starbase will have an economic ring for each time. The planets production will increase accordingly but it won't show up in the list of effects affecting production.

Also as above I can restart the game and have it work normally for 1-2 turns. Very annoying.

Please post any fixes found. Thanks!

The other things that maybe pertinent are:

It always locks up on turn 8 unless I queue up a 2nd ship in the build list before the 1st ship finishes but not always

also when I click to confirm a ship to the build list in the shipyard I get the notification noise but the ship name doesn't appear in the build list whether I build or buy it?

I forgot to mention If I clear all the pre-end turn alarms (like idle ship) and get to the point where I can end the turn the game behaves normally again; I can save and build orders show up in the queue.

But until I do that there's no saving the game and build orders don't show up.

I've managed to get it working again I verified the local files before launching the game and managed to move the scout ship built on turn 8 I still had to download 7 files at 2.9MB as my local files only contain 9835mb going by the extra files this should be 9838mb? I honestly don't know what is going on as I'm not experienced enough to delve into the programming.

I've got a feeling its tied to the shipyard finishing a ship and that I have ships that are built at that shipyard rally at it? but I'm probably wrong?

Im pretty sure this error is occuring during an autosave turn.

Ive ran into it a couple times and was able to get past it by setting my idle ships to guard/explore/sentry . I did have to restart and lose progress when i colony was idle though. Also had to destroy a new shipyard because it wouldnt allow me to assign sponsors during the round.
