1.4 Bug - Cannot select race in multiplayer

Just tried to play a multiplayer game in 1.4 with two human players.

Neither of us could select a race. We could make the drop-down appear, but clicking races in the drop-down did nothing. Moving the mouse over races in the drop-down highlighted things behind the drop-down.

It is a bit of a pain, but you can get round it as follows (same issue, just had LAN party). Start game with 2 or more players selecting whatever empire they can. Save game turn one then come out of game and restore the session - you can then claim one of the computer empires as a human one - providing you haven't played any turns then you can start from there.

hi, we had this problem too

you can actually select any race, but you have to be ultra fast with the mouse.  The popup race selector menu simply stops responding after about .2 of a second...
